The Challenge

We all sat there the whole family crying except for Finnick who was still missing. I asked my oldest brother Keon where Finnick was after we had all stopped crying he was usually the one to keep tabs on where all of his ,as he called us his shrinky dinky siblings were. For once Keon had no idea where Finnick was or at least that is what his words said. But his eyes were telling me something different by frantically flicking back and forth between me and the picture I had drawn of Finnick and I's favorite place the cliff near the official edge of our colony.

I ran out the door yelling at Mom and Dad that I would be right back I just want to say goodbye to all my school friends. This was a lie wanted to talk and cry with my twin brother Finnick. The only problem was Mom was hot on my heels telling me it was really late and that I should wait until morning but the second she caught the look in my eyes she knew what I was really planning on doing she gave me a small smile and said be carefull Fall.

Fall was her nickname for me and Finnick's was Finn that made us Fall and Finn all the time especially when we were little. We were 14 ½ now and no one but Mom call us those names any more.

I sprinted down the road to the edge of the colony and saw that Finnick was standing close to to the edge of the cliff looking like he was thinking about jumping. A man from our colony jumped off the cliff last year and died a search party was lowered off the cliff to look for his body but all they ever found was some mangled
flesh and bone that the wolves had been feasting on. The expedition also lead to the death of two members of the search party do to the wolves. I rushed over and tackled him to the ground. After I looked down at him he started crying.

I ask "Were you really thinking about what I think you were thinking about." Finnick says "If you think I was thinking about jumping and ending it all then yes you were right." "Why would you even think about that Finnick ." I asked . "I was already losing you and you are my only friend and the only one who understands me." He said. "Not true at all, the whole family understands you Mom ,Dad all the boys ,Keon , Zaire, Eliseo, Agustin, Lathan ,and even Trystan." I told him. "Yah but not as much as you." He said . "You have friends to,I told him what do you call Ross and Mya if they are not your friends." "I call them my friend and they are."said Finnick "Well I have a deal for you if you don't ever and I mean ever try something like this again I will give you my Communicator and I will take Keon's with me."I said. "Deal" he said. So I grabbed his hand and told him "Then let's go back home." and we did.
