New Beginnings?

Courtney's POV

I woke up with tear stains coming down my face. I knew I looked terrible because at the same time I felt like it. 

I heard a knock at the door.

" Court, you doing okay?" I heard my dads voice. Jake must have told him about everything from yesterday. 

I got up from bed and walked to the door, opening it to see my dad with a cup of hot cocoa for the both of us. 

"Hi Daddy." I tried to smile but instead I just started to cry. 

He quickly put down the cups of hot liquid and hugged me. I sobbed into his shoulder.

" What am I supposed to do Papa? How am I supposed to deal with all of this?" I looked at him and he looked so awkward. I had to laugh and he knew he had done the right thing. 

" Come on lets sit on the bed." He guided me over and we laid down. I knew what I was getting myself into and I was happy about it.

" Courtney, let me tell you a little story alright. Now once upon a time in a far away land there was a little girl who was the most strongest and most beautiful girl in the entire kingdom. She was smart, wise, always happy, and so many other things. And one day a young prince came along who had first seemed like a total douche bag compared to all of the others princes but eventually he had caught the eye of the beautiful princess. As they got closer as friends they realized there was something else there too. The both of them were the happiest that they have ever been. They realized that they loved each other but something had happened to the princess and the young prince blamed himself for it. This caused him to runaway and never talk to the princess again. The princess realized that she may have made a mistake about loving him so when he came to try to get back into her life she banished him from her kingdom. Due to this the princess was sad and didn't know what to do with her life until she realized that a boy should not stop her from continuing her life as a smart beautiful woman.The princess went on to live her life but did she go on without her prince or did she find a new one? That's on you to decide." I smiled at my dad as he finished the story. 

Growing up he would always tell me stories like that to help me with hard decisions. It always worked but right now I didn't know how to feel. 

" So it's either I get back with Derek and keep going until I find another person?" I looked at my dad as he nodded. 

" Alright I gotta get to HQ. I'll see you later kiddo." He got up and handed me my cup of cocoa.

" Oh and just so you you know sweetie, I haven't seen you this happy since you were a little girl." He smiled, gave me a kiss on the forehead and walked out. 

" This is going to be harder then I thought." I said to myself as I got comfortable on my bed. 

Derek's POV

I looked at my father as he counted his money from my recent deal. Staring at him I realized just how much I hated how I looked like him. I got his eyes and his hair. The best and the worst parts about me. 

" I'm done." He stopped counting and looked at me with a confused look. 

" What do you mean you're done?" I smiled.

" I'm done following in your footsteps dad. I'm done with all of this. I'm going back with mom and I don't want to see you near anyone I love anymore. Got it?" He just looked at me and just laughed. 

" Oh Derek, when did you get so dumb? You really think that you can escape me? Your father? It's not that easy. You try to leave then things will go bad." I looked at him. 

" I'll take my chances if it means I get to leave you and all of this shit." I turned around and walked out but not before hearing him say the last words he ever said to me. 

" Tell Courtney I said hello then."
