It is almost mandatory to see a concert in your lifetime, if you're looking to broaden your horizons The 1975 is a great band to see live or just overall witness. Their new album "I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It' came out February 26th 2016, its most anticipated album for the Alternative genre this year, the new album brings a new rhythm that their first debut album didn't bring. The 1975 are coming to Portland April 26th, Many well known artist have came to Portland including Aerosmith, Heart, Bon Jovi and Eagles for their "Hell Freezes Over" tour. "I always remember concerts from how the artist made me feel." says Sue Wiederhold, "So far all the concerts I've been to have made me feel extremely happy and excited to be there." Concerts are known for being loud, but the opening act is the loudest performance you'll hear that night?
The 1975's new long titled album "I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It" is meant to be a reprise from the last album, in the lyrics "The City" Matt Healy sings "Yeah wanna find love then you know where the city is" and in the new song "Change Of Heart" he sings "I never found love in the city, I just sat in self pity and cried in the car". The new album brings 17 new songs including a few instrumental tracks as the same as their first debut album. The new album brings a happier Matt Healy on his way back from his long never-ending life journey.
"I don't really plan on seeing any concerts mostly because all the artist I want to see don't tour anymore, and there are really any new artist I would want to see anyway, they're all pretty much pop sounding" Sue replies. The "newly sounding" The 1975 sounds more of a mixture of pop and alternative, even though it leans more towards pop it still has the bit of that rock-sounding blare. With bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam in the alternative genre it makes you wonder why these four, pop-sounding guys would be in the alternative category. The alternative genre of music is now labeled as "new-sounding-punk-music-nobody-wants-to-listen- to-or-is-too-afraid-to-listen-to genre". For the past 6 years the alternative "label" has just been a dumping ground for music that isn't quite rock but isn't quite pop yet, basically creating a cooler sounding version of stereotypical pop.
The 1975's second stop on April 26th 2016 is at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon, The show is expected to at 7:00 pm. Tickets range anywhere from $39.99 to $49.95 with special guests The Japanese House and Wolf Alice. Their new album "I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It" came out February 26th 2016 and is now available purchase in CD, double gate-fold vinyl on heavyweight transparent pink vinyl or a deluxe box set.
