Braevino POV....
I looked out the window to see nothing but a mountain with what appeared to be a hut on top. I looked at her like she couldn't be serious. "Come on Brae this will be your safe house and training camp for awhile" she said unlocking the door. A what and a what? Who knew bring different was this damn hard?
"This is too much why can't you just teach me at home?" I asked her. She kept fumbling in the trunk and wasn't shit back there. "Because Braevino the man that will be teaching you didn't teach me his wife did it's separate due to the women in my family abilities so you have to be taught besides you need open space to train and harness your power and you have to be safe to do that and back home isn't safe" she said as she handed me my bags.
"You're not coming up here with me?" I asked nervously. She closed the trunk and grabbed my hand. "Yes I'm only coming up for a bit to talk to the man and that's it Brae" she said and we started walking up a path through the mountain. The path was looking long but it was clear kind of.
I stayed silent and so did my mom. We didn't want to speak a word for some reason but I would've been out of breath because this is too much walking for me. We walked and the sounds of nature was loud among our silence. We kept a constant stride and I'm used to running but just slowly walking up this is too much.
"Are we almost there?" I asked and my mom looked like she wasn't phased by this walk. I thought the running was worse but nope this was too much. "Yeah just a little more to go" she said keeping her stride. We kept going for a little until we reached the top. Also I saw was a flat ground and a small little house in the back.
"Ma what is this?" I asked her looking around my surroundings. I wasn't prepared because this looks like something different. She started looking around and from the looks of it she was reminiscing. "Wow this place hasn't changed at all" she said and standing on this surface in the middle of the flat ground. It looked like it was for people to fight on but I wasn't sure.
I was about to walk on it too but she stopped me. "No Brae you can't step on this the man who is gonna train you had rules about this surface it's only for fighting or if you've fought on this and won you can stand on this it's been this way for generations in his family" she said holding out her hand for me to stop.
"Whatever that's too much to walk around" I said about to step foot on it when I heard a "STOP". It had me shook because you could hear it and it rumbled. My mom and I looked at the house and a man stood there with gray hair on his head and a beard that was a gray as he wanted it to be. He was Chinese and he started towards our direction.
"There he is Brae" my mom said like I was supposed to be okay with this. This man was odd looking and I'm not here for him. He was short and he got closer and closer and he was walking with his hands behind his back. He got in front of us and he stood there.
"My my how have you grown up" he said looking at my mother. She smiled and they hugged. They broke the hug and looked at me. "You must be Braevino keep off the mat it's not for you just yet" he said and I looked at him like he was crazy. "Umm it's far stretch from here to wherever I'm sleeping at which is where" I asked him looking around.
