After 2 days, my Dad and I finished cleaning up everything in the house.
My room is gleaming beautifully because of the sun's radiance. Along with the perfect temperature from the AC. My books and One Direction posters everywhere. My medals, awards, recognition, graduation pictures, and diplomas are scattered and displayed everywhere.
"Diamond, my child, do you have a minute?", my Dad called.
"Yes, Dad?", I replied.
"I just want to say that, I'm sure you're Mom will be so happy if she had the chance to see this.", he said with a little frown forming on his face.
"Yeah. If she only had the chance.", I said with a sigh.
"And I'm sure that she will be so happy about how you've grown so much.", he hugged me.
"That, I'm sure of.", I hugged him back.
I felt safety and comfort as I hugged my Dad. We never hugged like this since Mum died.
Desdemona Fitzgerald, is her name. She married my Dad, Don Fitzgerald, back when she was 23. I was born when she was 25. And today is her birthday.
Our house's doorbell rang. My Dad got the door and said, "May I help you two?"
I creeped behind my Dad and said, "Dad, these are my friends. Ava and Thomas. They live across our house."
"Oh... Okay... Tour them around, crystal..." He said happily...
"Yeah... Thanks Dad..." I replied...
"Okay... Guys get in!" I said merrily...
"So where's your room?" Ava giggled...
"It's upstairs!" I said...
Thomas was left downstairs... Checking out the movies on my shelf...
As Ava and I were fangirling in my room about One Direction... Thomas called out...
"Diamond..." He shouted...
"Yeah?" I said...
"You watched The Maze Runner?" He asked...
I rushed downstairs and saw him holding my CD's...
"Nope actually... My Dad only bought that for me... Along with the Scorch Trials..." I said in honesty...
"I only finished the three books by James Dashner but I never really had the chance to watch it... Why? Wanna watch it?" I asked...
"But before we do, who's your favorite character in the whole Maze Runner Trilogy except the main character Thomas?" He asked with a grin...
"Aside Thomas... Well, actually Thomas is not even my favorite... My real favorite is the Second in Command, Subject A5, The Glue, Newt..." I said...
Ava's jaw dropped hard... She couldn't stop staring at us... Then she squealed... My Dad was alarmed...
My Dad rushed from his room and said, "Is everything alright kids?" He asked...
"Oh! Uhm! Yes sir!" Ava said...
"Sorry Dad..." I said almost silently...
"We're sorry if we bothered any of your business Sir..." Thomas said politely...
My Dad said, "Apology accepted son... And call me Don... You're being too formal..." He said as he smiled and got back in his room...
"Ava? Why did you squealed? You almost gave me and my Dad a heart attack..." I said...
"Sorry... It's just cute of you not knowing the movie..." She said...
"Too cute..." Thomas added...
"Let's just watch the movie shall we?" I said...
We sat on our sofa with Thomas at the left end of the sofa... Me in the middle and Ava at the right end...
As we watched the movie... Ava starts to stare at me while unbelievably watching that her brother Thomas was in this movie...
As we finished watching The Maze Runner, Ava said, "Any reactions?" She grinned...
I was still there with my eyes widely opened... Unbelievably shocked that her brother played my favorite character...
"So Diamond... Do you know now?" Ava asked with a grin on her face...
I nodded and still in real shock...
Thomas's face while laughing at me in surprise was priceless...
"I have no idea that would happen!" I said it following with heavy breathing...
"You should've watched it before..." Thomas said...
"I told you, I never had the chance!" I said while breathing heavily...
"She looks so priceless..." She smiled at me...
"Yeah... We better watch the Scorch Trials tomorrow..." Thomas said with a grin on his face...
"Okay..." I said...
"Wanna go for lunch?" I asked...
"I'll cook..." I added...
"I'll help you..." Thomas answered...
"Oh lunch! Goody!" Ava said happily...
"Okay... Just wait in there Ava while Thomas and I will cook lunch okay?" I said...
"Okay..." She said sounding like a 7 year old little girl with a grin on her face... As she watch me and Thomas go in the kitchen...
Thomas and I cooked lunch started eating with my Dad and Ava at the dining table...
"So you kids live from across here?" My Dad asked...
"Uhm, yes sir... Oh! I mean Don..." Thomas sounding so polite...
"What's your name again son?" He asked...
"Thomas..." He replied...
"Oh... And what about your sister?" He asked again...
"Uhm, my name is Ava, sir..." She replied...
"You kids are being so polite... And I love it!" Dad said with joy...
"Yeah... They're different from the kids back at our hometown, right Dad?" I said to my Dad with a grin...
"You're right crystal... So different..." He replied...
"What about the kids back in your hometown Don?" Thomas asked...
"Well, they're so impolite and disrespectful..." He explained...
"Yeah..." I said...
"Oh... So is that one of the reasons why you guys moved here?" Ava asked...
"Actually, yes... But also because of Dad's work..." I said...
"Oh okay..." Ava said in realization...
As we finished eating lunch... My Dad said... "I'll just go to sleep crystal okay?" He said...
"Okay Dad... Sleep well... I love you..." I said...
"Well, I should say... You really love him very much... Yeah?" Ava asked...
"Of course, yes... He's the only one I have left..." I said...
"Oh... We're sorry about your Mom..." Ava said...
"No, it's okay... It was from a long time ago anyways... Even though it's her birthday..." I said...
"I wish she would have a very happy birthday..." Ava said while Thomas nods in agreement...
"We'll be you're bestfriends..." As Ava and Thomas pulled me into a group hug...
"Thanks guys... I knew I could count on you..." I said...
"Bestfriends don't leave bestfriends behind, yeah?" Thomas asked...
"Yeah..." I said...
As they hugged me again then they left our house with waving goodbye...
