Garrison smiled as he walked to the side of the room. He touched the wall and a platform protruded from the stainless steel wall.
Using the platform as a seat he spoke again, "Well let's start out with the obvious replacements and move our way into the subtle enhancements. I'm sure you noticed the new arms and eyes. They're state-of-the-art models and can do a lot of things. Your arms are outfitted with retractable blades located in the wrists, but out of the way of the highpowered water pistols within your palms-"
"Why a waterpistol?" Dagon interrupted.
"You're thinking of a different kind of watergun. The water you put into your arms and fire? That gets accellerated so fast, it can punch through half a foot of steel. Now, as you can see, your arms' plating is made of carbon fiber that keeps your arms lightweight, but reinforced with a bulletproof resin to protect the inside circuitry. The last feature to your arms is a set of prototype kinetic barriers to further protect your arms and yourself."
Dagon was getting irritated. Why was he outfitted with military-grade machinery? It's like he was saved for a sick experiment to craft an unstoppable soldier, but Garrison was not closed to finished with all of the upgrades done to Dagon's body. Garrison continued.
"Your legs are made of the same carbon fiber and resin, but hold no weapons. They are, however, powerful and fast, so they will still be very useful to you for what we plan to do with you. You're eyes feature a twenty-times zoom and multiple visions including thermal and infrared. But enough about the boring stuff, let's get to the expensive shit. Your lungs are laced with cybernetics that regulate oxygenation and carbon dioxide flushing. Never will you feel out of breath again. Along with that, there have been extensive amounts of work done to your brain, with implants you can probably feel through your skin on our forehead and temples. Your heart was laced with cybernetics as well increasing it's efficiency. You're smarter, stronger, and faster than you ever could be before we fixed you. Welcome to perfection."
Dagon remained silent and skeptical. These were impressive enhancements, but whoever had done this to him wouldn't have done it out of kindness. He was now thrust into whatever cause these people had and that felt restricting, even through his improved body.
"I'm guessing there's more to this than simply saving my life. What do you want from me?"
Garrison smiled that snake-like smile as he huffed in his cigarette. He slowly exhaled and the smoke enveloped his face.
"Well now. About that. You were an impressive man, Mr. Gent. Tell me. Why did the agency pick you?"
Dagon thought. He had no recollection of anything beyond the room he was in. All he could remember was waking up calmly in this silent grey room. Garrison frowned and spoke,
"Ah, you don't remember. Well, that's what the diagnostics meant when it said, 'Subject's biometric data unrecognizable.' Whoever tried killing you must have done heavy brain damage because you're thought process is so different now, the computer didn't recognize you."
Dagon tried again to remember, but his attempt was fruitless. He could not get past the mental haze clouding his memories. Dagon looked over when he heard the soft sounds of Garrison's tablet. Garrison had pressed a few places and the panel in the wall had opened again. He walked into the opening of the panel and stood there looking at Dagon.
"Well, I need to report your little rehab session to the upper ranks. I can tell you everything after they tell me to do so, but for right now, rest up. I'll be back soon to take you from this room."
Garrison had finished his thought and stepped out of the room, closing the panel behind him, and leaving Dagon to the solitude of the silent, grey room.
