They saw the truck approaching at a high speed.
Melinda: Jordan, watch out.
Jordan tried to move but he couldn't.
And that's when it all happened. In 2 minutes, Elvin and Melinda were kneeling beside Jordan tapping him and Melinda wailing.
***
Elvin: No Jordan... (Slapping his cheeks) I'll call the ambulance (impatiently to Melinda)
Melinda felt his pulse.
Melinda: He's breathing (excitedly)
Blood was drooling from Jordan's mouth. Melinda wept and cleaned it with her hankie. He slowly opened his eyes and squinted at her. He tried to talk but Melinda stooped him.
Melinda: Don't worry, it's going to be fine just...please keep fighting (stroking his hair as tears ran down their cheeks)
Jordan: D...A...D (hardly letting the words out)
Jordan was feeling dizzy but Melinda kept him awake by continuous slaps on his cheeks.

Michael's phone rang. It was his wife Emily. He smiled and picked up the call.
Michael: Hello d...
Emily: Mike you've got to come here (interrupting him with a distracted voice)
She was crying.
Michael: What's wrong, honey... Wait... are you crying?
Emily: It's Jordan.
Michael froze and stood up.
Emily: He had a car accident.
Michael: What? (Shocked) which hospital?
Emily: Baylon Hospital
Michael: I'll be right there (as he hung up in a hurry)
He rushed out of the office and bumped into Stewart.
Stewart: Michael...what's up?
Michael ignored him and went to the hospital desperately. Stewart shrugged but decided to cover for him when Jeremy tended to ask Michael about his cases.

At the hospital.
Michael rushed in and met Emily pacing around nervously. She caught a glimpse of him and ran to him. He hugged her.
Michael: where's he? Is he in a bad condition? What happened to him? Does he have high chances? (Asking quickly not waiting for answers)
Emily took his hands in hers.
Emily: calm down Mike... he's in the emergency room right now
Michael: (interrupting) how can you expect me to calm down when my son is in danger?
He wept. Emily led him to a bench where he sat down.
Michael: what happened?
Emily: Melinda said that when they crossed the road, they turned to see Jordan unable to move. It was as if something kept him from moving.
