Wanda's PoV

"You got detention?!" my brother yelled. " What the hell did you do to get yourself in detention?!"

"A girl called me a nobody emo that should be doing some weird voodoo shit, and I said that instead of getting her facts wrong that she should go back to the cheap strip club a few blocks down." I explained. "In the middle of class."

"God, Wanda. I'm going to have to tell our parents, you know. I just can't trust you to be alone anymore."

"Pietro! I am an independent person. Just because you are 12 minutes older than me doesn't mean you have to be my dad! I am 15 years old and fully capable of taking care of myself. Who cares that I got detention? Everyone does eventually, but my point is, I want to live my own life. I know you don't like me dating Vis, I've seen the signs. Vis is a nice guy. Just, please don't think you have to constantly look after me."

Pietro started to tear up. He pulled me into a hug and cried on my shoulder. "Ever since the thing after the Halloween dance, I've been really paranoid and scared that something like that would happen to you. I'm sorry, I'll try to have a looser grip on your life."

I smiled down at him and realized the time. I had to get to detention.

Bucky's PoV

Now I see what they mean by 'combat'. They are teaching me how to punch and shoot a gun. Yes. A school is teaching me how to shoot a gun. How does the government allow this? Though, there is this girl in my class named Neena Thurman who is really good. She almost never misses the target. She even can shoot a bullet off of different surfaces and she still hits the targets. It's like a domino effect. I asked how she does it and she was a "mutant". I don't know what that means, but I just accepted it.

That evening I looked up "mutants" on Google and I saw a lot of headlines and articles saying stuff like,

"Mutants are poison to our society!"
"Humans were here first, why should they have a right here?"
and "Senator Kelly states that he will stand firm against the biological monstrosity known as 'mutants'!"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why haven't I heard about this?"

"Heard about what?" Steve asked from the other bed.

"Mutants."

"You haven't heard about them? Have you been frozen in ice for the last 50 years? They've been very relevant since 1963! A lot of people hate mutants since they are different, which is bull crap! Mutants should every right as a regular human!"

"Oh wow, so what makes them different? Just powers? Everyone seems to be fine with the Justice League comics, which have many people with powers."

"Well, mutants were born with those powers, but don't really discover them until puberty. Also, DC Comics aren't real, so there's no real threat there."

"Weren't Wanda and Pietro born with their powers?"

"I think so."

"So, they're mutants, right?"

"Yeah, they would be."

"Huh, do you think they know that?"

Steve shrugged and went back to his homework.

Bruce's PoV

I have to do PE today and I am not excited. PE has always been a struggle for me. I'm not fast, strong, or agile. Good thing is, Clint is in the same period as me, so at least I'll have a friend with me.

I walked out of the locker room in my gym clothes and felt kind of out of place. Almost all of the guys were muscular and tall. I was just there. Even Clint is kind of muscular. There was this one kid who was blue, furry, and pretty thin.

"Hey," I said to him."

"Hallo," he said in a German accent.

"You're German?"

"Ja. Professor Xavier found me getting attacked by many there because I looked like a demon. I could've been burned at the stake if it weren't for him."

"They still burn people at the stake?"

"No, not anymore. Prof. X found me back in the 80s."

"The 80s? How old are you?"

"I'm only 16. I just don't age as fast as normal people because my father is apparently a demon. I didn't find out about that until about a year ago."

"That's fascinating! You're a mutant, correct?"

"Ja."

"What are your abilities?"

"Teleportation."

"That's-" The coach interrupted me.

"Alright everyone!" A large man made out of orange rock said. "Today we are going to run a mile around the track. I see that we have a couple new students, so you I am Coach Grimm. You can either call me that or "The Thing" behind my back, since you like doing that. Call me "The Thing" to my face and I will clobber you."

I gulped. Soon enough, we were running around the track. It was actually really warm for January in New York. I was getting tired out by the end of the first lap and sweating. I slowed down and larger people sped by me. One of them shoved me to the ground and the group of boys laughed. Rage filled my head.

Why would they do that? Do they know how rude that is? I want to teach them a lesson! I'm going to- oh no.

Clint's PoV

I heard a large roar and screaming from the other side of the field. I quickly turned around and saw a giant green monster raging. My eyes darted towards Coach Grimm to see him on a walkie-talkie. Only a few seconds later several teacher came outside. They all tried to restrain the monster with their powers and a bald man in a wheelchair pressed his fingers to his temples and soon the monster was forming back to Bruce. At first it was a shock that the monster was Bruce, but then I remembered Principal Fury mentioning it on our first day.

The unconscious Bruce was being carried away and I rushed towards him, but I was shooed away. I hope he's okay.
