Sophie's phone

Henry: Hey

You: Hi

Henry: I miss you

You: I miss you too. Two more weeks, though.

Henry: That's far too long.

Henry: Soph?

You: I agree.

Sophie POV

I threw down my phone. I know I shouldn't feel that bad. Laure can't even talk to her mate, and has to worry every day if she's still alive, and Draco and Kovus were separated for years, but... He's still my mate. It still hurts.

Sophie? A voice said inside my head.

Get out of my head, I thought. Henry was exceptionally powerful. He was especially gifted at acromancy, which was why we could speak to each other in our minds. A/N and you thought I wasn't going to clear that up!

You don't leave me much choice. It's either this or you respond to my texts. In all honesty, I preferred this. I liked hearing his voice. I like hearing your voice too. 

Stop reading my mind, Henry!

You know you like it. And suddenly he was there, in my head, not just his voice, but a picture of him, all messy chocolate hair and amber eyes and smirks. My mind fills with thoughts of him, how amazing and wonderful he is, how...

Stop it! Laughing echoes through my mind.

Draco POV

I was walking down the corridor to mine and Kovus' bedroom, when I heard quiet sobbing from Laure's room. I knocked gently on the door.

"Laure," I said. "Can I come in?" There was a rustling and then a weak;

"Yeah. Of course." I opened the door slowly, to see the girl sitting on her bed, blue eyes puffy and red. I made my way over, pulling her into my arms. She collapsed immediately, sobbing into my shoulder. I didn't say anything. I knew what it was like to miss your mate. I knew that she didn't need silly reassurances. I knew she just needed to not be alone.

"I miss her so much," she said through wracked sobs.

"I know. I know. You'll be together soon, okay? And I know it seems like an eternity now but really there's only two more weeks. Two more, okay?"

"Okay. Thanks Dray."

"Any time. Come on, we're going for ice cream."

"Don't you want to be with Ko?"

"He's with his dad. They have eleven years to catch up on."

"Fair enough. So to Cremes?" (A/N if you haven't been to Cremes, you haven't lived)

"Where else?"

We ordered two cones to takeaway, and walked through the park in the town with them.

"Bitch," a voice said from behind a tree. "You think just because you go to some fancy boarding school or whatever the fuck you can avoid us?"

"You have to come back sometime," another voice said. "Your dad makes you, doesn't he? Too scared of daddy to say no?"

Laure and I rounded a corner to see two large looking boys towering over a figure on the ground, fists raised.

"Fuck off," Laure said, brandishing her wand. "If you know what's good for you."
