I stood there on the spot, frozen. I could hear my quickening pulse in my ears and my mouth had dried completely. My breathing hastened, I couldn’t help it. I had no idea what to do; do I run or do I kick this person in the stomach? My defence skills were clearly lacking behind at the very moment I needed them the most. Damn it.

“It’s freezing out here, isn’t it?” his lips pressed right up against my ear. And with that, he placed a long, black coat on my back, protecting me from the cold weather. The coat was warm, indicating that he had just taken it off. He had a strong English accent, husky in a way that would be able to make me drool at the sound of it. I turned to look up at him, a cheeky smile playing on his lips.

I let out a sigh of relief and nodded, clutching the coat tighter. My pulse was still racing, although for many different reasons. My head was spinning and my knees had never been so weak before. He had frightened me so much that my voice had caught in my throat. I began to feel really hot as he pressed his body against me and as he looked down, I could feel his eyes burning the back of my head.

The tank top he was wearing showed off his strange, yet interestingly designed tattoos on his left arm that fit perfectly with the bad-boy persona he was giving off. He had really fit legs that were squeezed into a pair of black skinny jeans. I will admit, he was attractive but no matter how much his looks engaged me, I wasn’t quite ready to be so forgiving for nearly giving me a heart attack.

“Come on, I’ll walk with you Tayla,” he said as he slipped a hand around my waist. And before I could question him as to how he knew my name, he continued - “I’m Harry, by the way. Harry Styles.” And with that he winked.

Oh my god, no fucking way. I pulled away from him instantly, regretting everything I had thought earlier. Harry Styles, how could I have forgotten?

But as fast as I moved away, he drew me back. His hand gripped my waist, making it impossible for me to escape. I huffed and began walking away with him right behind me. I could feel his torso pressing up against my back; his stomach rock hard.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he whispered hotly in my ear, the sensation making me squirm but in a very uncomfortable way.

“No way am I doing this, especially with you.”

“Whatever do you mean?” he asked, a hint of amusement detected in his voice. His eyes were dancing; he knew exactly what I meant. Harry Styles, three years my senior, was known to be one of the most charming, yet manipulative people to have once attended Buckley High. He was the typical high school heartthrob who had quite an infamous past of promising girls the world to get them in bed with him. And although everyone was well informed of his reputation, some girls didn’t mind. They all seemed to want a piece of him. And it disgusted me, to say the least.

I rolled my eyes. “You were given the nickname Heartbreaker Harry in Year 5, weren’t you? Please correct me if I’m wrong,” I told him sarcastically.

He groaned, his face twisting into a grimace. “That was 10 years ago, how do people even remember these kinds of things?”

“People only remember because you continue to remind them every single day,” I replied, emphasizing the last three words with disgust. “No matter where you are. And can you let go, you’re hurting me,” I tried wiggling out of his grip, but no matter what, he wouldn’t budge.

“Come on, I’m not trying to do anything to you. I just want to walk you home. Don’t go all police on me just because your dad’s a cop,” he smirked. “Oh and sorry if I scared you back there. I uh, didn’t really expect you to freak out so much. Most girls like that kinda stuff.”
