Now, I'll admit that I'm not an amazing liar but I have managed to get out of certain situations by bending the truth slightly. Firstly, I'd like to say that lying is never really the best option and you will most likely get caught out at some point, so only lie when you have to.
The key character trait in a good liar is confidence, so when you tell the lie sound confident in your speech as this will make people believe you easier. Adopt relaxed body language that will not make anyone suspect you, and generally try to move the conversation away from the lie you just told as fast as possible without seeming suspicious.
Always remember when you lie to people and what you said, as you now have to remember to stick to your story. Discrepancies in your story will be a telltale sign to people that you've lied and that will both anger people and put you in an impossible situation. As I said before, lying should be used as a last resort.
Remember to keep your lies simple, otherwise you could find yourself tripping yourself up when it comes to telling the lie. I would advise just sticking to little white lies, the ones that won't harm anyone.
