CHAPTER TWO

-Matts POV-
I stand at my locker grabbing my bookbag. The last bell just rang so its finally time to leave and go home.
I close my locker and immediately turn to see Shiro standing behind me.
'Isn't he ashamed of standing near me?' I think to myself.
"Hey Matt, instead of taking the bus is it ok if we just take my car? You can just tell me the directions!" he smiled at me.
I felt my heart melt a little bit, this is too much. First being partners and bring study partners. Now he wants me to go into his car?
I push my glasses up. "Yeah sure that's fine." I force a smile and he pats me on the back.
"Lets go!" he walks off and I follow him. I grab my phone and message Katie telling her I wouldn't be on the bus.
We exit the school doors and Shiro walks over to this really nice sports car.
I can only help but to stare in amazement.
"Well, are you just gonna stand there or get in?"
I slightly blush and nod walking over to the car and opening the door.
I look up and see Shiro talking to one of his guy friends.
"Aye Shiro I see you got him!" the one guy laughed.
"Shut up, Lance!" Shiro had a slight blush across his face.
Lance whispered something to him and Shiro shook his head.
"Yeah whatever Lance. Good luck with Mullet head." he laughed and then got in the car.
Mullet head? Is he referring to Katies friend Keith?
I shake my head and take a deep breath.
Shiro looks over at me starting his car.
"Tell the way!" he smiles.
*time skip*
He pulls his car into our driveway. It looks like mom and dad aren't home yet.
I open the door and get out. By the time we reach the door Katie just got off the bus.
"Big Brother! Why weren't you on the bu-" she blinked and looked at Shiro then smirked.
"I-i messaged you Pidge." I look at her.
"Ohhh sorry my phone died," she stuck her tongue out "and don't call me Pidge!"
I ruffle her hair.
Shiro coughs "Er hi I'm Shiro. I'm here to work on a project with your brother."
"Hi Shiro. I'm Katie. But my nickname is Pidge," she looked at me "now if you two will excuse me." she squeezed between us and opened the door and walked in. Shiro and I followed in after her.
"My rooms this way." I point towards the hall and he nods looking around.
I'm slightly nervous because my room looks like a total nerds room.
I head that way and open the door and he follows then gasps.
I sigh. He's gonna think I'm a total dork now.
"I love your room Matt! You have so many... Cool stuff in here!" he walks around and starts to touch things.
I sigh in relief this time. "Hah thanks. I get most of this stuff from my dad, he's a astronaut."
He turns and looks as me amazed.
"He is?"
I nod my head and smile. "I want to be a astronaut when I'm older too."
Shiro nodded "I used to want to be one aswell but I'm not good at astronomy and science."
"I can teach you remember!" I say automatically.
'Fuck. Why did I say that so quickly.'
He smiled at me. "I would love that."
I gulp. "Well we should get started on our project."
*time skip*
-Shiros POV-
I stretch and look over at Matt.
He sighs and the door opens and Matts dad pokes in.
"Hey guys dinners ready." he says and closes the door.
I stand up and so does Matt. His glasses are a little lopsided and it makes him look cute-.
I shake my head. Not now.
"Hey I should probably get going." I say. Matt looks over at me.
"Stay for dinner. My parents don't mind." he smiles at me. God why does he have to be so adorba- nice.
"If they don't mind then." I say thankfully.
We both walk out into the dining room. Everyones already sitting down. Matt goes over and sits beside Katie. I go and sit across from him.
"Thank you for letting me eat dinner with you guys."
Matts mom gigges. "Oh it's not a problem."
We all start eating, the food is delicious.
"This is so good. But soon I'll be eating those space peas." says Matts dad.
Matt laughs. "I know you love those peas dad."
He laughs as well. "You got me there Matt."
After dinner is over Matt and I walk over to the door.
As we're walking I almost grab his hand.
'Shiro. Gane control of yourself!'
I hear Katie giggle behind me and I can't help but blush.
"Well I'll be leaving now. Thanks for dinner." I say to Matt.
He smiles. "Thanks for staying, have a safe trip home."
"I will thanks, I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Yeah see you tomorrow." I see a slight blush run across his face.
I walk to my car and sit inside.
We barely know each other but,
Does he feel the same?
