CHAPTER 5

-Matts P.O.V-
"MATT WAKE UP IT'S TIME FOR SCHOOL!!" Katie runs into his room and jumps on his bed.
"OOF." Matt wheezed, having all the air knocked out of him.
"Katie why did you wake me up that way.." He could barely speak.
"Because I want to help you look nice today!!" She grinned.
'Oh I know this look.' Matt thought.
"But why, there's nothing special going on..?" He rubbed his eyes, searching his night stand to find his glasses.
"You gotta dress up for Shiro bro!" She beamed brightly.
Matt sighed, "You got two minutes to get an outfit."
Katie hugged her older brother then dashed to his closet.
Matt rolled off his bed and stretched walking towards the restroom.
He brushed his teeth and his hair and fixed his glasses.
Katie dashed into the bathroom.
"Matttt, you can't wear glasses, look I got you contacts," she rumbled around a drawer and pulled out a contact lens case.
"Do I have to?" Matt pouted, Katie nodded.
She handed him a outfit and smiled walking out of the bathroom.
A few moments later Matt looked into the mirror.
He was wearing an Adidas shirt and a jacket over it with a pair of dark jeans.
And no glasses, Matt felt naked.
He stared into the mirror for longer.
'I'm trying to hard. What if he decides he doesn't even like me. What if it was a joke, I look like a fool.'
Matt shook his head, away with the bad thoughts.
He went and grabbed his bag and slipped on a pair of chucks.
'That's more like it.'
Katie was waiting for him at the door and they walked out together to the bus.
"See bro, you look handsome!" She complimented him.
'Am I never attractive..?..'
"Thanks, Pidge."
She stuck her tongue out at the nickname.
Soon the bus came and they walked on.
Everyone was staring at him. Everyone.
Katie went to go sit with Keith again and instantly they where chatting.
I go look for a seat on the bus and someone sticks their leg out and I implant my face onto the front of the seat in front of me.
Everyone laughs.
'Everyone hates me.'
I rush into the seat and turn my head to look out the window.
Soon we arrive to school and I dash off the bus.
"Hey Mat-" I hear a voice.
I turn around and see Shiro.
He's frozen.
"Uh, Tashi. Are you okay?" I ask.
Shiro immediately nods.
"You look totally different!" He smiles.
'Is that a good thing? Am I better than before?'
"Oh yeah, aha I just wanted to try something different." I feel a blush burn my skin and I tuck my hands into the sleeves of my jacket.
"We should get to class now." Shiro smiles.
I smile back.
"Alright."
*Time Skip*
I was mindlessly putting down notes that I already knew.
My phone buzzes in my pocket.
Its a message from Shiro.
'Meet me after school?' He said
'Sure :)' I replied.
I smile at my phone and hope the end of the day comes soon.
Soon classes are over and I quickly go to my locker and grab my bag and rush outside.
I see Shiro around the corner.
I smile, "Hey Tas-" I started to say.
I drop my bag.
Shiros kissing Allura.
I feel tears welling up my eyes.
Before anything else happens I rush off.
Tears are now streaming down my face.
God, I'm such a fool. I knew the most popular guy at school wouldn't fall for a damn nerd like me.
"MATT!" I hear Katie call after me.
I continue to run until I'm out of breath. I'm somewhere in the forest.
I was too worried about running I look down and see cuts all over my arms and legs.
"Matt!!" I hear Katie run after me.
I turn around to see Katie who's also with Keith.
"Dear god Matt, what even happened??" She sounded worried.
I began to break down even more.
Katie comes closer to me and hugs me.
"You can tell me later." She hums to me.
Keith awkwardly stands there then squats down beside me.
"You don't know me much but, uh, I'm here for you too Matt." He gave me a gentle smile.
"Thanks Keith."
I start rubbing my face.
"I'm such an idiot." I say, the tears keep streaming.
"Hey bro, you're not an idiot." Katie frowned. "You are far from idiot, what makes you say that?"
"Shiro was with Allura."
Katie gasped.
Keith looked more confused than before.
"That fucking idiot! Im going to fuc-" Katie ranted.
"Katie, language."
"Sorry moooommm." She hugged me tighter.
"I'm seriously sorry bro." She looked at me in the eye, you can see she feels terrible.
"And you're already uncomfortable with dressing that way, I, I just wanted to help." She sighed and released me from her bear hug.
Keith stood up too.
"Let's go home." She says.
I stand up but fumble a bit.
Keith puts his arm around my waist to help me stand up.
"I got you."
"Thanks Keith." I wipe tears from my eyes and we make our way home.
Once we get home I wash the cuts on my arms and legs.
I hear our door bell go off.
"I GOT IT!" Katie yells going to the door.
-Katie's P.O.V-
"I GOT IT!" I yelled and ran to the door.
I opened the door.
It was Shiro.
"Hey I was wond-"
I slam the door and lock it.
"Who was it?" Matt asked.
"Oh it was no one." I smiled to myself and helped Matt with his injuries.
No one hurts my big brother.
