Hermione thought Ron had gone mental. After all he is the one who told Harry about how bad the Malfoy's are. But here he was talking to Hermione about giving him a chance.
" Come on he was resorted into Gryffindor, that has to stand for something," he argued.
"I guess you're right but still, what about Harry, have you talked to him?" She inquired.
"Well, no," he said.
He hadn't wanted to say anything to the Golden Boy on this subject. Afraid he would get shut down.
Hermione didn't know what had gotten into Ron but she had to agree he had a point.
"Oh all right one chance, the moment he's a prat I'm out," she agreed.
Before he could get another word out she ran up to the girl's dormitory.
Ron went up to the boy's after all it was near bed time.
Harry or Draco were not there. (No they are not together just missing in different places) Blaise was there, and he was the one he needed to talk to.
"Hermione agreed to give you two a chance although Harry has no idea," he stated.
"Well neither does Draco, he'll throw a right fit," he says supresing a laugh.
Oh the image of Draco throwing a fit.
"May I ask, what got you convinced?" Blaise asked.
"I was taught kindness," Ron stated simply crawling into bed.
On the other side of the castle Harry was wondering around, under his invisibility cloak of course. He had to get out he needed to think. What about? The Slytherin prince. Well old Slytherin prince. Why wasn't he being his usual self. He hadn't even insulted him. Well besides saying he was horrible at potions. But even Hermione says that. So that was nothing compared to what he used to do. Maybe he did change after all he was put into Gryffindor this year.
Draco was also around there somewhere. Maybe at some point they even ran into each other but neither noticed for they were to deep in their own thoughts. Draco's were around the same as Harry's. Except he was worried about what had gotten into himself. The stupid Gryffindors were rubbing off on him was all he could think of. After all he hadn't even tried to insult Potter. Even with the knowledge of his nightmares he could have used those well. He even noticed Potter staring at him, he didn't even say anything to that. Draco started making his way up to the Gryffindor dormitory. At the same time Harry did as well. They met up at the portrait of the Fat Lady.
"What where you doing out Potter?" Draco asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," was the only answer he had gotten.
Harry had went in first. Going up the steps to bed closely followed by Draco. Neither of them knew Blaise was up still. He heard them both come in at the same time, this sparked his interest. Even though they didn't see each other before the Fat Lady. But Blaise didn't know that.
Draco was confronted by Blaise that morning about it.
"So you and Potter finally make up after seven years?" He asked with a smile on his face.
"What are you talking about?" Draco asked back.
"I mean you were both out late and came in at the same time," Blaise stated.
Draco scoffed, " You've got to be kidding?"
"I'm not," Blaise said confused.
"We weren't together I didn't even know he was out, we met at the fat lady," Draco dismissed this.
"Well maybe we could try being friendly, after all we're in the same house now," Blaise said getting dressed.
Draco thought for a moment, it would be nice not to fight. I mean all he really wanted was Harry's friendship to begin with. "Maybe."
Was all he said before he left for breakfast.
Ron and Harry we're just leaving the great Hall as Draco was coming in.
"Potter," Draco stopped Harry.
Who turned around along with Ron.
Draco outstretched his hand. "Friends, Potter?"
Harry looked at his hand bringing back memories from first year. If he denied it this would be a long year.
"Friends," he said taking Draco's hand.
Draco almost smiled but turned it into a sneer, just in time to.
