Short story number one; draco x hermione
This is an AU where Hermione didn't marry Ron or have kids. Same thing with Draco Malfoy. Plus, pretend like the last book and two movies never happened. Also, the year is 2016 in this story.

Draco hissed in pain as his one and only lord and saviour pointed his demented and eerie wand and whispered the word, 'crucio' in a creepy tone. The Lord's voice was calm and still managed to sound so lifeless and dark. Draco tried to disobey the spell, but he knew it was useless. The boy eventually caved in and stopped budging. The budging was the thing that made the suffering worse.Albeit Draco knew what spell the Dark Lord would use next, he still had a small amount of hope, deep deep down. Hastily, Draco picked up his own wand and squinted his eyes reflexively due to the agony. He rushed through all of the possible spells to counter-attack.
Without thinking any further, Draco yelled, "Aguamenti!" sending a blast of water from his wand.
Voldemort flew back due to the water pressure.
"Damnit!" the Lord's voice boomed through the dark and desolate hall.
Draco took this as an opportunity to flee. It was cowardly and he knew that. At the moment, Draco was extremely injured and was in no condition to fight someone as evil and demonic as Voldemort.
He ran into the Ministry's Floo Network. Malfoy scooped up some floo powder and yelled the first place he could think of.
"Diagon Alley!" He exclaimed, careful not to let the Lord overhear where he was headed.
As Malfoy made it to the edge of Diagon Alley, he scanned the place for someone he knew who could help him.
Draco's eyes landed on a familiar brunette next to Olivander's Wand Shop. He raced toward Hermione and made sure not to make eye contact with anyone other than her. She looked at him and a shocked look was smacked onto her face when she realised who it was.
"M-Malfoy?" she stammered.
"Hermione, I need your help. He-He's out to get me," Draco stuttered.
Hermione took a step back. Malfoy was never good nor nice to her and her friends when they were in school. But she took a quick glance at the boy's state. His usual cold glare was replace with a look of desperation and need for someone. It didn't help that his pale skin was smattered with blood and bruises. His clothes were torn and stained with multiple substances- one being clear and seeming of water and the other being dark red.
She gave in and grabbed his hand and did the apparate spell. The spell did not sit well with Draco and his conditions.
They teleported to a rather average house, smaller than that of Malfoy's.
"Nice house," Draco muttered incoherently, being the usual arse Hermione perceived him to be.
"I see you still have your same personality as you did when we were kids," Hermione responded, giving him a smirk that Draco wanted to believe was still kind, even with the words she had just said.
