the title explains itself.

short story number two; tyler x josh;

Tyler began to hum the first song that came to mind. He grabbed the remote to his old television and turned it on to a random station. The familiar twisted faces of Beavis and Butthead appeared on the screen. This reminded him of Josh. Josh was the reason he was at his house sulking on Christmas Eve. His ex-wife, Jenna, believed that Tyler didn't pay her enough attention.

She claimed that whenever they went on a date that Tyler would always blabber on and on about Josh, and Josh only. Albeit Tyler didn't blame her, he surprisingly had no reaction to this whatsoever. Either way, it was really different spending Christmas Eve alone for the first time in a while. Usually, for the past many Christmases, Tyler would spend the night at Jenna's place and they would stay up all night watching cheesy movies like Rudolph, and other funny ones like Elf. Josh on the other-hand always went to visit his family's house.

Tyler was shoved out of his thoughts when the doorbell rang to his front door. Even being in his room, the scream of the buzzing sound was loud enough to be heard in his backyard; with the door closed. He shut down his old laptop and rushed down the small set of stairs that lead to the living room.

"Coming!" Tyler exclaimed, his mind racing at who could be at the door. Christmas Carolers weren't out because of the drastic drop in warmth this year on Christmas Eve. It couldn't be Jenna for- erm- obvious reasons, and Josh was too busy having the time of his life at his family's house. Wait, why was he missing Josh? Well, he was Tyler's best friend, he had all the right to feel that way.

He opened the door and he saw a familiar boy with red hair and a muscle tee with the band name 'Guns and Roses' plastered on the front. "J-Josh?" Tyler began, "W-what are you doing here?"

"I heard about you and Jenna's breakup," he replied, giving Tyler a look of sadness and sympathy- something Tyler never liked. He hated it when people felt bad for him.

He brushed it off, "How did you even find out?" he questioned.
"Your Facebook status went from 'taken' to 'single'." he stated simply.

"Oh." Tyler kind of laughed.

"What?"

"It just amuses me how you notice all of the small things, yet Jenna never did." Tyler shrugged, placing his lips in a thin line and looking down at the ground.

Josh felt his cheeks redden at his friend's words. "Heh," he smiled. "I don't know what to say."

"Me either."

They stared at each other before Tyler invited Josh inside. Neither of them talked, but the silence wasn't uncomfortable. It felt relaxing- something Tyler hadn't felt since his breakup with Jenna.

He felt happy. "Josh?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah?"

"I-I think that I like you." Tyler mumbled, almost inaudible.

"W-what?"

"Joshua William Dun, I think that I may have feelings for you."
