Rules!

These are important and should be respected by all members of the club. Failure to do so will result in a strike or being permanently banned from the club. The following rules are:

1. Be kind and respectful to everyone in this club.

Otherwise you will receive a strike. Also, please do not steal any of my ideas for this club as I have put a lot of work into this. If I see that you have only joined my club in order to get inspiration (steal my ideas) to create your own club then you will be banned from this club and I will report you.

2. Add this book to your library.

This is a must if you want to receive updates and notices of the weekly challenges.

3. Subscribe to the discussion page and to the website.

This is a must as I will be posting updates, notices and reminders there. You can find the links on my profile.

4. Only one book per author.

This is to ensure that everyone has a chance to be noticed. You may also change your chosen book at any given time, once confirmed with me beforehand.

5. You must provide an honest yet helpful comment on a minimum of 3 chapters.

This applies to all challenges. Please begin each comment with #ALPOHBookClub so I can easily find your comments. Each comment should be a minimum of 2 sentences and should contain constructive criticism. Do not give vague comments otherwise I will ignore them and it'll be noted that you have not done your assignment properly, resulting in a strike. If the book does not have 3 chapters, then read whatever it has at that given moment. However, if you like the book you may continue reading on further, and only vote if you actually liked it. There is more info on the FAQs page but if you need clarification about anything please do ask me.

6. Inform me when you have completed your assignment.

You can either do so by commenting on the book, commenting on the discussion page and or by PMing me so that I can check you off. Also, if you can, please do let me know which chapters you commented on. Failure to do so may result in a strike.

7. Inform me if you are unable to meet the deadline.

If you are unable to meet the deadline for whatever reason, please do inform me beforehand (at least 24 hours in advance) for an extended deadline (of up to two weeks). Failure to do so will result in a strike. If you request an extension then you will not be given an assignment for the next week.

8. You do not have to participate every week.

If you do not want to participate every week then let me know at least 24 hours before I post the new assignments. You will not be penalised for it at all. In fact, it is your choice on whether or not you would like a break from the club. However, please also inform me if you do want to leave permanently.

9. Three strikes and you are out.

Failure to comply with the rules will result in a strike. If you receive three strikes you will be permanently banned from the club. However, you may get your strikes removed. Head over to the FAQs for more info!

10. Have fun!

Don't forget to have fun and interact with everyone. This is a place to not only meet great authors but to meet new friends as well. So enjoy and I hope you all have a good time! Also, so that I know that you've read the rules, please include your favourite colour in the "anything else" section of the form.
