Continuing from last chapter
Caleb's POV
"Well, yeah, of course I like her, she's my girlfriend Lauren..." I say getting a little frustrated at how jealous Lauren seems.
"Oh. Ok" Is all she says.
The room is filled with awkward silence, no one talks, no one moves, no one dares to stand up and go somewhere else. We both sit there looking down, like we both feel the exact same way.
I break the silence. "Wanna go watch a movie?..." I ask her, hoping she'd say yes.
"Sure, which one?" She says, not exactly in a happy tone like she always speaks.
"Any movie. I have a ton of Disney movies, that's all my little sister Hayley watches, is that okay with you?" I ask chuckling. I see a smile appear on her face, but all she does is nod. "Ok thennn" I laugh as I pull her wrist and pull her upstairs to the couch. "There ya gooo" I hear her laugh, finally. I grab a stack of disney movies and set it on her lap. "Now choose." She smiles and immediately picks out her favorite one. 'Brave' "Oooo nice pick" I say as I insert the movie in the tv. I sit down besides her and see her shivering. "You cold?" I ask her, which clearly she is, since it's snowing outside. It's winter break. "Mhm" she says, so I head upstairs and grab a blanket from Annie's room. I set it on top of her and she smiles. I sit besides her.
I look at my phone to see 19 messages from Alison and 4 missed calls, that's when my eyes go wide. It looks like Lauren saw my reaction because she asks, "What's wrong?" "Well uh Alison never texts me or calls me this many times, so it must be urgent." I say. "Go call her, I'll wait here." She speaks. I nod and go downstairs to my room. I call her and she answers after the phone rings two times.
"Ali?"
"Caleb! Where were you?!" She says as if she was very worried,
"Sorry, I was just meeting up with the new neighbors..." I say, trying not to give any more information.
"Oh... Well I need to see you ASAP."
"Why is that?" I ask curiously.
"Just, Please. Meet me tomorrow at the cafe near my house. It's urgent."
"Ok, see you then." I say into the phone.
"Love you" she says, but all I say is "Mhm", and hang up.
I go upstairs to see Lauren smiling at the movie, which makes me smile too.
I sit besides her, and she doesn't ask any questions. I put my arm around her shoulder, but then realize what I'm doing at put it back on my lap.
Lauren's POV
Caleb put his arm around my shoulder and I felt butterflies go all around my stomach, making me blush and slightly smile, but he immediately takes it off, and puts it on his lap like he regretted it. I'm never going to get him.
