Friday Night

Jason’s POV

“You came at the wrong time my friend. Do you know who I am?”

“Do you fear me? Detest me? Huh?”

“I can tell by the look in your eyes that you’re scared. Don’t worry, sweet angel. I won’t hurt you-yet”

“Lights out, for now. Goodnight.” I locked the door, and made my way to my own room.

Saturday Night

Bang. Bang. Bang

“Jason...What was that?” Megan asked curiously, as she pulled away from me. She leaned over,  peering over my shoulder.

Great, you just ruined the moment with your banging, again.

“Nothing, let’s continue.” I placed my hands on her hips and pulled her closer. She leaned over and her lips were about to touch mine but the banging continued.

Can you fucking not?

“Is this some paranormal activity shit you’re pulling on me?” She asked. She got up and turned on the lights, blinding my eyes. I grumbled quietly and got up too.

“Just, sit down here. I’ll go and find where these sounds are coming from.” I said. Megan nodded and sat down on the couch quietly. She grabbed the remote and started to flip to different channels on the TV. I made sure that she wasn’t going to follow me so I stayed with here for a couple of minutes then left. I walked across the house and down the basement stairs. I see her, with her back against the wall, her knees up to her chest and her head buried into her arms. When she heard my footsteps, her head shot up with the same fearful expression when I first saw that on Friday night.

Flashback

“You planted the bombs throughout the building, right Zac?”

Zac nodded. “And I made sure that he can’t escape out of the warehouse. I got some smaller bombs planted near all the exits.”

I smiled at him proudly and patted his back. “Can’t wait to see how this is going to turn out. I’ve been waiting for months to do this.”  Zack, Ryan and I, stood behind a giant oak tree, waiting for the explosions while Dylan was on the opposite side to make sure our victim doesn’t escape.  A feeling of excitement made my heart beat faster and faster. I kept on fidgeting because I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. I couldn’t wait to see his lifeless body on the ground after all the trouble he caused for us. This is what I live for. I sound cold-hearted right? That’s because I am.

“Any second now.” Zac whispered.

All of a sudden, I felt a blast of heat come in contact with my face. The loud ringing explosion was like music to my ears, the ground shook a little but we all kept our balance. A manly scream came from inside the building. I laughed and watched the building collapse with debris flying in all sorts of directions. Smoke filled the dense air, making it difficult to see but it soon went away.

“He’s dead. Mission accomplished.” Dylan’s shouted. My lips pulled into a smirk and all the guys, including me, were satisfied. “Hide the body, leave no evidence and we’re out.” I demanded. The three of them scattered to the scene while I stayed behind to make sure there were no witnesses. I looked behind me and saw a shadow. Then, a figure of a girl with a horrific expression when she saw what happened. She made eye contact with me. I growled and anger filled my body. Without thinking, I ran towards her with full speed. She ran but she was too slow. I grabbed her wrist and tied a cloth over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. I shoved her into the car, locking it. Looks like two people will be killed this week. Hide the body, leave no evidence and I’m out.

End of flashback

“Can you stop banging the fucking wall? I’m kind of busy upstairs.” I snapped.  She didn’t say a word, instead she looked behind me with a different expression.

“Jason, who’s that?” Megan’s voice echoed from behind me.

Caught.

I sighed. I turned around to look at her. “She’s a witness.”

They both looked at each other, not with hatred but with hope.

Megan’s POV

“He’s keeping a witness in his basement.” I told Cameron. “I feel so bad for her. She looked so innocent and frightened. Like, it’s not her fault that she came across him while in action, you know? I wanted to help her or talk to her because I can imagine how I would of felt if I was in that position but Jason would kill me if I helped her escape.”

Cameron continued watching a football game as he slowly ate chips from the bowl.  He’s obviously not listening to me. That little shit.

“Cameron fucking Reid , did you hear what I just said?!” I shouted as I turned off the TV with the remote.

“TURN IT BACK ON! OH MY GOD MEGAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” He grabbed the remote from me and turned the TV on. I will never understand boys and football.

“Your attention span is as small as your dick. I stated.

“TOUCH DOWN!” He stood up, causing the bowl of chips to spill all over the floor. He sat back down and looked at me. “What were you saying earlier? I couldn’t hear you.”

“You should have listened since it was about Jason! Now, I’m not telling you, unless you tell me why your name was on his criminal file.”

“Can you just let that go?! It’s not that important and it’s not relevant to you anyways.” He shifted his body to look at the TV again. I sighed, as I got up I felt my phone vibrate. I took it out of my pocket and viewed my lockscreen.

Jason:

Meet me at the local park at mid-night. ;)
