Birthday Party ~ Scirstie

The steady tapping of keys slowly woke me up. I blinked a few times and sat up. The sun shone through the curtains and I silently thanked whoever closed them. I honestly couldn't remember who.

"Kirst? You up? Finally! Girl, you got hammered! Maybe lay off the shots next time!"

I raised an eyebrow at one of my best friends' hyper attitude.

"What's with you? How are you so awake right now?"

"It's 12:30 and I've had my fair share of coffee. Now, get up. You cannot be in bed all day. It would make me a terrible friend if I let you."

Scott grabbed both of my arms and proceeded to pull me out of the bed, dragging half the thing with me.

"By the way, what were you doing on my laptop? I told you only to use it when you are either showing me something or working on something important. Knowing you, it wasn't either."

The tall blond shrugged.

"Tumblr's important."

I rolled my eyes and started disentangling my limbs from my massive duvet. Scott flopped himself down on my bed and started typing rapidly. My eyes would've popped out of my head had I rolled my eyes any harder.

"Hey, you wanna do that thing where we go buy our album and pretend we're not the ones who made it even though we clearly are?"

"Uh...sure..."

He slammed my laptop shut causing me to wince and jumped out of bed. Clothes ended up everywhere and he forced me to try on ten different things.

"Dude, it's just a music store. I don't need to be all dressed up."

"If I didn't help you get ready and look fabulous, I'd kick myself out of here."

I opened my mouth to say something, but by the time I did that, Scott was pushing me in the passenger seat of his car.

"Why are you so excited to buy your own album?"

Scott glanced at me and grinned. My confusion only continued to grow. Quite a few minutes later we pulled up in front of one of the furthest music stores from my place. I just decided not to question my friend any longer considering how weird he was acting.

The store's lights were all off and the door was covered up.

"It looks like this store moved. Let's go to one closer to my place."

Scott grabbed me by the arm and shook his head. By the time I started to say something, he'd already pulled the store's door open.

"SURPRISE!"

I screamed and fell back into Scott's arms. He laughed and helped me up. Quite a few of my friends and the majority of my family stood before me. The band, my parents and some crew members who helped on tour. There was a large, red velvet cake covered in vanilla frosting placed in the middle of a long table covered in presents.

"Oh my god. Did you plan this?"

I turned to Scott with the biggest smile on my face.

"With a bit of help. No way I could do this on my own."

My first reaction, of course, was to hug him. He wrapped his arms around me and smiled.

"Happy birthday, Kirst."
