A/N: So so so sorry it's been so long! I lost the motivation to write, but I hope I have it back now.
Back in the Kill House
Nell stared up at Inman with an incredulous look on her face. She simply couldn't believe that he had been the one to put her escape to an end.
However, the thing that confused her the most was how it was virtually impossible for David Inman to be at the Kill House right now.
He had been taken into custody by her team and there had been no reason to release him, so how could he be standing here holding Nell in a choke hold, stopping her from escaping.
She didn't have time to think about it much longer because without hesitation, Inman pulled Nell along with him back to the bottom of the staircase.
Moments later, Keller along with Cisneros and the other TRPs appeared at the top of the stairs looking down at their leader.
"Do one of you idiots want to tell me what's going on and who the hell this is?" Inman spat out to the men staring at him with confusion evident on their faces.
Cisneros made his way down the stairs along with Keller who said, "We found her at the restaurant, going through the security footage of the training run."
"Have you completely forgotten the discussion we had about loose ends?" Inman asked angrily, tightening his grip around Nell's neck. She gasped for air and continued to pull at the arm constricting her breathing.
"She's also a member of the team we were training to find Cisneros. So I figured she might have some valuable information to share with us." Keller said, holding out Nell's badge for him to look at.
Inman reached out and grabbed it, looking the badge over carefully to validate the story.
He gave a smirk and nodded, handing it back saying, "I guess you guys finally did something right for once."
Inman finally released the hold on Nell's neck and she took in a grateful breath now that he wasn't obstructing her airway, but he grabbed a fistful of her shirt collar, making sure she wasn't going anywhere.
Cisneros stepped forward addressing Inman, "You come in here asking us questions, but I think the better question is what happened with you. Where have you been?"
"I just had a talk with my old friend Owen Granger. Apparently he was the one in charge of that group we were training today," Inman replied.
Nell was taken aback by what she had just heard.
Granger.
Granger knew Inman and hadn't told any of the team. She assumed he had been the one to release Inman from custody, so he was partially responsible for her current predicament. Nell decided not to dwell on that fact for too long and instead focused on what she needed to do to make it back to her partner and the rest of the team in one piece.
Inman yanked on Nell's shirt collar and made her walk back up the stairs to the room where she had just escaped from. The chair she had been sitting in was still laying on the floor, so Keller picked it up off the ground and Inman shoved Nell, forcing her to sit back down.
She looked around, seeing all the TRPs and Cisneros gathered around where she sat with Inman standing directly in front of her.
Nell couldn't help the smirk that graced her lips when she looked over at Lee and saw him holding a cloth to his broken nose to try and stop it from bleeding. She was surprisingly proud that she was the one responsible for it.
