A/N: I own nothing.
Nell stared at the shattered remains of what once was her work-issued phone laying on the floor.
The only hope she held onto now was that once Eric called and saw that her phone was offline, then they would figure out what had happened to her. She just had to hold out long enough for the others to come rescue her, and she could already tell that these men were desperate enough to make her talk by any means necessary.
Suddenly, somewhere within the room, a phone started buzzing. Nell looked back at the floor with great hope that somehow it was Eric trying to reach her, and he would send the team to bust into the place, guns blazing, and save the day like they always do.
But her phone sat there, silent.
It was Keller's phone that was going off, so he pulled it out of his pocket and answered, "Yeah?" as he walked out of the room, leaving Nell with the other TRPs.
She tugged at the restraints around her wrists, testing to see if she could try and loosen them somehow, but the zip ties held tight.
Nell leaned back into her chair and sighed in defeat. She couldn't believe what she had gotten herself into.
This was all her fault, and now her team could be put in jeopardy because she hadn't been more aware of her surroundings, like a good agent should be. If she made it out of this, then Nell was definitely going to work on her personal security.
But all she wanted right now was to be back in the safety of OPS, sitting next to her partner.
Eric.
Nell couldn't imagine how worried he would be when he found out she was missing. Eric was always nervous whenever she went out in the field, but now he had a reason to be.
It was a sad coincidence that just before she left OPS today that Eric had told her to be careful while she was out in the field.
Now she wished that she had listened to his warning.
Earlier Back in OPS
Nell had just got done burning an old set of classified documents for Hetty and was now making her way back to the OPS center to check in with Eric.
As she entered, Eric was just ending his phone call with Callen and Sam.
"Hey Wolfram, any update from the restaurant?" she asked as she took a seat at her computer terminal.
"Callen said that there's a security system set up in the restaurant, but he wasn't sure whether it was active during the training run or not."
"Well it doesn't hurt to check. I'll start on that right now," she said ready to begin her work, but stopped when Eric swiveled in his chair to face her.
"Hold on there Ununoctium. The camera network is closed circuit, so one of us is going to have to go on sight to gain access."
"Really?" Nell questioned, sounding excited at the idea of going into the field, "Well I guess it's my turn, considering you went into the field with Callen and Sam last time."
Eric sighed, "Yeah, then it's only fair that you take this one. I'll look into Inman's military records while you're gone."
With a smile on her face, Nell pushed away from her desk and started to head to the armory to collect her equipment, but before she got very far Eric grabbed onto her wrist.
"Hey," he said, suddenly very serious, "Just be careful out there, OK?"
Nell stared at him with a confused look on her face, seeing his eyes were filled with concern, "Of course I will Eric. I mean it's just hacking into a camera network. I've done this a million times."
