Chapter 2

Uwian na. Katatapos lang ng Math class nila but Magee, being a GC as she is, was still busy answering their exercises. She still couldn't get the right answer on the problem kahit may formula naman na. She just hated Math so damn much.

Magee's brain: *SYNTAX ERROR*

Pipindot na lang sana siya sa calculator for the final answer when she heard one of her blockmates' voice asking in a malandi tone.

"Are you coming tonight, Russ?" asked Stella to the boy she hated for being so pa-cute.

Nag-aayos naman ng gamit ang lalaki when he replied with a flirtatious smile on his face. "Ikaw, pupunta ka ba?"

This Stella girl answered naughtily, at lumapit pa sa lalaki. "Well, yes. Kung pupunta ka."

"Then I'll see you when I see you." said Russel with a wink then went straight exiting the door. He disappeared just like that.

Stella and her friends were screaming and blushing the hell out, which made Magee more irritated (next to that Math problem she kept answering on). Napailing na lang siya.

Pero wala namang pakialam ang mga babae sa kanya kaya minutes later, Magee was left in the room. Alone.

Okay lang naman sa kanya. Bata pa man siya, she didn't have any constant companion with her. She used to be alone. Mas kampante siya sa buhay with her books. As you all know, may pagka-nerd siya. Unlike a typical kid would do, she spent her childhood days less onto any outdoor activities. She preferred to stay at home-pouring her entire summer vacation reading books and watching school-related shows. And when schooldays come, she gives her best shot on her academics. No doubt when she graduated elementary and high school as class valedictorian. She couldn't complain though. She loved what she's doing and she's happy making her family proud.

'Yun nga lang, since may pagka-nerd siya, hindi maiwasang konti lang talaga ang nakakaintindi ng ugali niya. Naging mas complicated pa humanap ng totoong kaibigan when she finally entered adolescent stage, whereas her generation wanted to go YOLO while she wanted to stay at home reading Harry Potter series. As a result, she ended up being a sociably awkward teenager.

Thank you na lang dahil nakilala niya sina Lea and Karen when she entered college. At dagdag pa si Jim na talaga namang mapagkakatiwalaan niya. But there are times just like this when she's alone at hindi niya rin maiwasang malungkot. And why on earth does she feel lonely anyway? Eh 'di ba nga sabi niya sanay naman siya? Ah ewan. There's no time to pity yourself, Margarette. Malaki ka na. At busy ka, so you need to go home to finish what you have to finish.

Slowly and carefully walking down the stairs, she finally reached the groundfloor (her room is in second floor). She instantly dialed Mang Edgar's cell number para magpasundo. After two rings, he answered the call.

"Mang Edgar, pwede niyo na po ako sunduin. Hintayin ko lang po kayo sa lobby," she said while walking towards the college lobby.

"Sige po, ma'am. Pakihintay na lang po ako," Mang Edgar said.

Hindi rin nagtagal at dumating na rin ito. She hurriedly grabbed her stuff and went outside but she stopped midway through the car when she noticed a couple PDA-ing near the sampaloc tree. Nakasandal ang katawan ni girl sa puno, while nakasandig naman sa puno ang braso ng lalaki while his other arm was wrapped around the girl's waist. At si girl, ang landi makatawa!

Tsaka niya lang napansin na napahinto at mukha na siyang timang na nakatayo sa iisang spot when a pair of black eyes with pure intensity caught hers. Agad na nag-iwas siya ng tingin at dumiretso na sa kotse.

Once she got inside the passenger seat, she couldn't help herself to look back on that spot under the sampaloc tree only to find none. Wow. Buti naman at nahiya ang mga loko. It's already five in the afternoon at palubog na ang araw pero nasa public place pa rin sila. Lantaran sa paglalandian, ha. She shook her head while pitying the girl. Hindi ito ang blockmate niyang si Stella na ka-flirt-an ng lalaki kanina sa room nila. Now she has proven herself na womanizer nga ang lalaki. Paiba-iba ng babae ang walangya. Hay.
