I took a deep breath before I took the last step forward and opened the doors to my new school. Birmingham High School, I didn't know a single thing about this school but after my parent's divorce, this is where I ended up. My dad moved to his home country, Spain, while my mum and I packed up our entire life and made the move from Liverpool to Birmingham.
When I spoke to the principal, on the phone the night before, he told me to go find his office as soon as I arrived at the school so that was exactly what I did.
Once I found the office he welcomed me to the school and handed me my schedule. He explained it to me, pointing out a few things; P.E two times a week, lunch at 12 and different teachers for every class.
He then walked me to my next class which was English with Mr. Parker.
It was very awkward to join a class in the middle of the school year but at the same time I suppose that it would be awkward nonetheless being the new girl.
The principal left me standing alone by a brown door leading into what I would guess to be my English classroom for the near future. I raised my hand and placed a few nervous knocks on the door before taking a step back.
The door opened and revealed a tall man with short, grey, hair. He looked down at me and smiled politely.
"You must me Olivia Roach" he said and shook my hand.
"I'm Mr. Parker and I will be your Maths as well as your English teacher. Come on in" he added and opened the door wider, letting me in the classroom.
The class sat quietly, watching me taking a few steps in to the classroom before falling to a stop. Eying the students one by one and let me tell you something; there were some pretty hot guys in this class.
Mr. Parker put a hand on my shoulder and looked out over the students.
"This is Olivia Roach; she will be joining us here in English. A few of you will probably have a couple of other classes with her and I expect you all to make her feel welcomed"
He stopped talking and diverted his eyes down on me. I stayed quiet and waited for him to continue.
"I'm guessing you're not into the whole introducing yourself thing you I'll just let you take a seat. There's an empty chair right at the back between James and Emily, I'm sure they'll take care of you"
He pointed towards the back and I spotted the empty chair between a girl and a boy. I quickly walked there and sat down on the chair. Emily turned to me and gave me a smile and a small nod before returning her attention to Mr. Parker who continued the lesson where they had left off before I interrupted.
When the lesson ended, an hour later, and everyone walked out the door Emily joined me. She walked by my side through the crowded corridors.
"So Olivia, when did you move here?" she asked and smiled at me.
"Well yesterday actually" I laughed and looked at her.
"Where did you move from?" she then asked me and stopped by a locker. I noticed that it was only a few lockers away from mine.
"Liverpool, I'm surprised you couldn't tell from my accent" I answered her.
"Oh yeah now that you said it, I've been there once actually. Hey what's your next lesson, mine's P.E" she said and pulled out a gym bag before shutting the locker door with a loud bang. I looked down on the schedule that was in my hands and read the little box representing our next class.
"So do I" I said with a sigh but quickly realized something.
"Shit Emily I don't have any clothes with me. Will the teacher be angry?" I asked her and she shook her head.
"No, don't worry. Our teacher likes eveyone" she smiled,
"Well except Brad, James, Tristan and Connor" she quickly added while starting to pull me in the direction of the big gym I had seen when arriving at the school earlier.
"Why?" I asked her confused about what the deal was about those four boys.
"You'll find out soon" she said as we arrived at the locker rooms.
I walked through the door leading in to the gym hall while all the other girls were still changing, simply because I wanted to speak with the teacher before the lesson started.
I saw her standing in the middle of the hall with a notebook in one hand and a soccer ball in the other. Looking like a typical P.E teacher.
She looked up at me as I got closer to her and I offered her my brightest smile.
"Hello miss, I'm Olivia Roach; the new student. I just wanted to tell you that I didn't know I would have P.E today because it's my very first day here so I didn't bring any clothes which I'm really sorry about" I said politely yet nervously.
"Oh no it's fine dear! I'm Miss Young" she said and smiled at me.
Just as she said that the doors to the locker rooms opened up and all the students in the class just welled into the gym.
I received a smile from Emily as she sat down with the rest of the students, right in front of me and Miss Young. I spotted James from my English class sitting with two other boys next to him. I weakly remembered Emily speaking about James and three other boys but I could only see two.
Just as the thought crossed my mind the doors to the boys' locker rooms were opened yet again. A boy with dark brown, curly, hair walked out wearing all black. He had a few tattoos scattered down his arms and I quietly inspected them as he walked across the room.
He suddenly looked up, right at me, and let his deep brown eyes meet my .... ones. His eyes were beautiful, just like he was.
"What the fuck are you staring at?" he spat at me and moved his gaze away from me leaving me with an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. I certainly understood what Emily meant earlier about the teacher not liking them because they sure didn't seem like the friendliest people.
