third person pov

love is a strange thing. it brings hate to life and it tears down walls. it causes and confusion and anger, but also passion and care. it puts people together and breaks them apart. in this case, it tore people apart.

after lauren died, shawn didn't know what to do with himself. he cried for days, canceled shows, and tried to convince himself that this was all a bad dream. that he would wake up soon. but it wasn't, this was real.

he was a wreck. he stayed off twitter and hardly ever went out. fans could tell. it wasn't until months later that brian was finally able to convince shawn that everything happens for a reason, and lauren wasn't meant to make it. there would be some other girl for him.

chloe never quite got over lauren, and she's still trying. being that they were cousins and best friends, lauren will always have a place in her heart, but she still hasn't let it sink in that she'll never get to hug lauren again or see her smile.

lauren's mother cries almost every day, just as a mother would. she feels as if this is her fault. that she is the one to blame. but she's not, how could a mother purposely give her daughter cancer?

hayes cared deeply about her and although he couldn't make it to the funeral, he thought of her all the time, and wished they had more time together.

shawn has continued on with his music career, even though he tried to convince andrew that he shouldn't. he is currently married to a girl from back home, and has a baby on the way. brian is there for him every step of the way and shawn is doing well. he goes on twitter everyday, and pays his respects to @mendesriches because he knows she'll never leave his heart.

chloe has graduated college and gotten a job as a manager for a large company. she is currently engaged to hayes and they plan to be together for a while.

lauren's mother learned life goes on, and she gets better everyday. there will always be an open wound in her heart, she realizes. but every day it heals more.

love causes loss, but also creation. creation of children, and creation of more love. love goes on and love stops. but love never dies.
