As Dad slowly gets better I start to realize what a terrible person I have been. Sarah and Bryan have been nothing but nice to me and I just blew them off. I decide it's time to fix this issue along with getting my grades up.
Walking into school I let a note in Sarah's locker. I know I'll bump into Bryan so I wait until later to patch things up with him. I gather my books and walk to homeroom, stopping by a few rooms to get some extra credit work. Sitting down at my desk I get straight to work and am halfway through my essay for English before I realize a troubled Sarah by me.
"Is everything okay," she asks me.
"Yeah," I reply. "I realized that just because my dad hasn't been doing well doesn't mean I can shut down and blow off you or Bryan. I'm really sorry and I want to make it up to you."
Sarah hugs me saying, "You don't need to make it up to me. I'm just glad to have you back!"
We talk through the announcements and I almost forget my plan for Bryan. I tell Sarah to go ahead and I wait for the rest of my homeroom to leave, making sure I'm the last one. As I walk out the door, Bryan is waiting to go in just like every other day this year. I throw my arms around his neck in a hug, flash him a smile and continue onto my next class. I'll have time to talk to him later and explain how I did with Sarah.
At lunch I am waiting in line to get food when I feel arms wrap around my waist and then I am being lifted into the air and spun around. When I am safely back on the ground I see that it was Bryan who picked me up. No sooner do I come to this realization that he squeezes me to him in anotyer bone crushing hug.
Looking up at him I question, "Bryan?" "Yeah," he asks. I start to tell him how sorry I am and that I will do anything to make it up to him. I want to tell him how grateful I am that he stuck by me even when I was rude to him. Before I can fully express all of this to him he tells me that he would never not be my friend.
Once we get through the lunch line we meet Sarah at our usual table and talk just like old times. They catch me up on things that I have managed to miss within the past few weeks and I listen intently.
