It started when the intercom went off.
"Attention everyone, we have detected an anomaly on this planet, and we have issued a stage 1 evacuation. This is not a drill. Report to your nearest anomaly center." Everyone but me started panicking to the door. I snuck by everyone and boarded my assigned Launchpad to prepare. I was 15 when this happened.
"Everyone calm down, and enter your assigned cryogenic chamber, we are going to Tycho 5," One of the attendants announced.
"Tycho 5?" Someone asked. "Isn't that 100 years away?"
"It is, Sean," A girl said.
Wow, who would need confirmation about this? I think to myself. I strapped myself into my cryogenic chamber and I was pulled back into the chamber. I felt the temperature drop, but I was still living, breathing and beating.
Why haven't I frozen completely yet? I think. I hear a faint mummer but I can't figure out what it was. Must be nothing. I can never be sure when everyone else in in their cryogenic chambers. When do the attendants get in theirs? Ugh, it's a good thing I studied cryogenics in school. As I was messing with the wires, the temperature started dropping even faster. I lay my arms across my body and let myself freeze over.
