KEVIN MCKENZY POV

"Dad, where is Kevin?"

"Hopefully dead."

"Hm, that's not a very nice thing to say."

"I don't care. He deserves every bad words in the world."

"You seem angry," Kyle stated, looking up in the wrong like always and he couldn't be more right.

Thanks to Kevin, my entire day had been ruined from top to bottom. I did not see him again after I left the infirmary, but my mood was already wasted and the people around me only made things worse. My kiss with Mister Parker traveled faster than I expected and I heard whispers behind my back each time I passed through the hallways and some girls even came to question me about it.

It was seriously too much for me to handle.

"How was your day?" I asked Kyle, trying to get my mind off my want to struggle the jock.

"It was good," he replied happily. "There was no Stephanie to tell us what to do, our teacher made us watch a movie about animals which, of course, was of no interest to us, so we remained in our corner and Milo taught me some new signs and he treated me of an idiot because I wasn't signing it right. Isn't that kid insulting? And then we had lunch and the food was good by the way. Recreation time was fantastic. There was no one to mess with us and Milo did not have to change into Hulk."

Kyle talked so quickly at times that it was just hard to catch up with everything that came out of his mouth. If he could, he would talk all day. He did not hesitate to say what he thought or what he felt like. He was also used to voice things out for Milo and when a question was directed to both of them, he would reply using 'us'.

He liked to talk, it was clear for many people and the reason for this was because of his disability. He did not show it but not being able to see bothered him more than he let on. Because of that he was dependent on others and he hated it. Unlike Milo, he couldn't even walk around his own house without having someone with him. Kyle tend to forget things a lot, specially his surrounding, so I could not let him take the risk of getting hurt by walking around alone.

"Wasn't our day great, Milo?" Kyle asked his brother, turning his head on the other side. Milo was staring outside of the window, surely lost in thoughts.

We were currently in the bus on our way to Stephanie's house. That girl still did not make any sign of life so now I needed to pass by her house to make sure that she was alright. Her place wasn't so far from mine so we would just have to walk a bit to reach home after the visit.

"Hey, Milo, reply!" Kyle exclaimed. He raised his hand and guided it unknowingly forward. He touched Milo's shoulder by first try and he shook him off. Milo's eyes left the window and went to Kyle, a frown coming on his face.

"What?" Milo asked him in a low voice.

Milo did not talk often. Well, he did talk to me and to my parents but to strangers, he did not make an effort to tell them one little word. That was kind of rude as when we have guests at home, he would only stare at them without greeting them or even shaking hands with them. Most of the time, people thought that he was mute instead of deaf.

The problem was that he could not pronounce all the words correctly. He was not sure of the words he spoke so he prefered not to talk. Milo was actually not completely deaf, he could hear some sound around him but the volume was so low and blur that he could not distinct what it was clearly.

He was a smart kid though. Yeah, he did have his childish moments but he was more serious than Kyle would ever be. He could learn anything as long as it was explained to him with care and patience. Sign language was one thing that he mastered now and he was trying to learn lips reading and how to pronounce words like they needed to be said. It seemed to be a hard task for him. It was not a problem if he talked or not but he already made up his mind; speaking was important to be able to talk with Kyle.
