Going back to school, for the first time in a long time was something I looked forward to. Rebecca and Fabian were still on suspension and Zachary was going to school with me, bringing along his very noisy brothers. I guess you can say it's like my house. His brothers were more energetic than Zachary but they were different grades from us, so I didn't have to worry about them.
Well that's what I thought.
"Ok, so Xavier being a senior is a big honor! You rule the school, do mostly whatever and it's the last year of high school! But girls here are crazy for boys like you..."
"Tell me about it!" Zachary complains.
I wouldn't argue with him about that. With those green eyes and brown, blonde-ish hair, I wouldn't be surprised if a swarm of girls grabbed him out of nowhere.
"How about us, Sage! Can we be seniors, too?!" The twins yell out in unison.
"Sorry guys, but ur gonna have to sophomores. They're older than freshman, but not as popular with the other guys." I can see those two blue eyed, black hair boys hang around juniors, but probably not seniors. Xavier was a lot taller than them and reminded me of buffer Zachary.
"Well when the senior girls see us, they're gonna have to want us with them." Cole says
as he nudges to Ryan and smiles.I don't know the twins so well but I'm positive that Cole is the cocky one.
"Don't worry, Sage. These idiots won't step foot near them. As least, not on my watch." I smile and watch as Xavier grabs the twins, walking them to class.
I know I just met these guys, but they'd make awesome brothers for me. They've already grown on me!
After I drop Zachary off to his class, I successfully make it to Biology and shocked everyone when I walked. No one has seen me for a while, knowing that I was being abused but the teacher was too clueless to know.
"Sage Dawson! Why do you think you can come to class after so long? You need to---"
"Cut her some slack, Ms.Finns!" One person says.
"You don't know her situation, she's been going through a lot."
I smile as I hear the others defending me and for once, I feel like I mattered.
As I'm settling into my seat and smiling to myself, a announcement comes on. I hear laughing for a second and sigh, realizing who it was
"Uhhh Sage? Me and Cole are boredddd! Can we be seniors now."
****
My first day back was the best school day I could have in years. I was confident in participating, I was a little comfortable in gym and I made a new friend, Dawn. This probably might go away once Rebecca and Fabian come back, but I'm going to enjoy my fun while it last.
Because me and Dawn have different lunch periods, I decide to go have lunch with Mr.Ewell, in his room. He was teaching an AP class and needed someone to watch his presentation.
"You'll do fine Mr.Ewell, just stay confident and grab their attention. I'm sure you'll do great!"
"Thanks, I needed that, but Sage, you can call me Andrew."
I nod, but feel weird about calling a teacher by his first name. I'll probably get used to it, his looks will make me see him as a regular teen, I guess.
"So Andrew, why did you decide to come to Franklin High?"
"I actually went here a few years ago. I met my two best friends here, went to the best parties and graduate as the valedictorian. I guess coming here is just my way to be where all my memories here."
