"I'm not hiding anything. I don't need to."

~~

There couldn't have been a correlation with what Akashi said. There might've been, though. But he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would send some random girl optimistic and comforting messages under her full name. Wait, does he even know my full name?

Other than that, he would have no reason whatsoever to contact me or send these messages.

Yeah, I can rule out Akashi. Then, who exactly were these from?

The questions and thoughts floated around my head for a good portion of the night. It's certain that I wouldn't get enough sleep.

Saturday rolled around again. When I woke up, the first thing I did was check my phone. Ever since that day I went to watch basketball practice with Kazuno, I haven't gotten any more messages.

No notifications.

Well, ok then.

I groaned as I pulled my phone from its charger, and pulled myself out of bed. Classes were at 11 AM. Right now it is was 9. I had two hours to do whatever.

It was already 10 when I finished getting ready for the day, so I spent the last hour reviewing what we had covered last week. Tried to, at least. My mind kept straying to different things.

"[First Name]-chan," Mom called. "It's time to leave."

I snapped out of my daydreaming and quickly shoved my textbooks and other supplies into my bag. "Yes, I'm coming," I answered.

Now, when I got there, there was a bit of an unexpected event that came up. Just as I walked into the classroom, I froze. My usual math teacher was no where to be seen. So, who was going to teach the class? The answer is a certain redhead that stood at the front board. I stood there frozen at the doorway for a few more moments before Akashi glanced in my direction. I instantly straightened up, and he told me to sit down somewhere. Still confused, I nodded and went to take a seat. Was he supposed to be teaching today?

When one more person came through, I saw Akashi look up at the clock and close the door. The chatting students quieted down when they heard the slam of the door closing. Huh, so Akashi had more of a presence than I thought.

"Since Mrs. Harasawa got called somewhere suddenly, I will be teaching you today," Akashi explained. "I am hoping that you show me the same respect as you would her."

Something about the way he said it didn't make me believe that he was "hoping" for anything. We would probably show him more respect than we would show Mrs. Harasawa because he scares us witless anyway. He started by taking attendence, and my mind started wandering again.

"...... [First Name]-chan," I heard a faint voice and blinked.

"[Last Name] [First Name]-chan?"

I looked around and noticed that everyone was looking at me. Oh, he had gotten to my name on the attendance list. "Y-Yes," I trailed off.

He gave me a firm stare, "I would appreciate it if you would pay attention in class. This is your first warning. Next time, I won't be so lenient."

"S-Sorry..."

Already intimidated by his attitude, I made sure not to daydream during his lecture. During the last few minutes, I would check the clock every once in a while. When the minute hand landed on 6, I abruptly stood up. Akashi whipped his head towards my direction, and caught sight of the clock behind me. He sighed softly to himself and dismissed the class.

I bolted the heck out of that classroom. Only to go back minutes later after finding out I left my pencil case there. That happens when you're in a rush. When I entered the classroom again, Akashi was still at the front, packing all the papers into his own school bag. He either seemed to not notice I was there, or he just completely ignored my presence. I would go with the latter, though.

Quickly sneaking towards the table I sat at, I snatched my pencil case and made my way to the door. But before I reached it, I stopped. There was one thing I wanted to know from Akashi. Sure, I was terrified beyond my mind to talk to him even for a second. How I managed to speak up that day in the gym is beyond me.

I had just mustered up the courage to ask when I saw a glimpse of a familiar face peeking from the side of the door frame.

I blinked.

There was nothing nor anyone by the doorway. Well, there were still students in the hallway, so I got a little mixed up. I turned back to Akashi and forced the words out of my mouth. "Why did you decide to volunteer?" I asked.

He answered the question without looking at me, "Is there anything wrong with it?"

I stood, a little taken aback. I honestly hadn't expected him to give a proper answer. Well, he didn't really give a proper answer, but a response. "U-Um no," I quickly stammered out and shuffled out of the door.

Once I made it outside, I shivered as I felt a chill down my spine. I could really feel his aura of superiority. Thinking nothing of it, I continued to my next class.

The minute I got home, I turned on my phone to see if I received any messages. Sure enough, there was one:

From: [Full Name]
To: Me

Did you learn anything new today?

What exactly do you want from me? You still haven't told me.

The answer to that is up to your imagination.

You're weird.

Everything you learn today will influence you and your future. Whether you decide to use it for good or bad is up to you.

What...?

I didn't get another response after that.

Sighing, I turned off my phone.
