Chapter 21: Off To Paradise Without You

Bella's mom would say no and James has nothing to do about it. But she did allow them to do video calls. But Bella notices, after a few days, that she rarely receives any texts nor calls from James. Okay, enough with the spoilers. Let's get started on the story.

Bella POV

"Can James come?" I asked nervously.

"Aww, I'm sorry dear but this is a family vacation. I'm afraid he can't come." She said. The smile faded on my face as I heard those words. Sighing in defeat, I forced the smile back to my face.

"O-okay. I'll inform him of this."

"Look honey, I know you loved that James guy so much but this is just a short time for our family to bond. Plus, it's Austin's birthday next week. Bella, we've been planning for this since you left us in New Jersey. We've missed you so much and so did your grandparents." Mom said.

"So we're going back to Kansas?" I asked

"Yes but, we'll just stay there for a few days and you get back in L.A. while us and your brother go back to New Jersey."

"Where are we gonna go to vacation, anyway?" I asked and my father answered.

"Brazil, then France. And finally, we're gonna get a plane to Kansas. Ain't that fun dear?" He said.

"Oh. It is. Please excuse me. I have to......pack my things."

"It's okay, dear. Pack for three weeks honey. Oh and by the way, we're leaving on Friday." Mom said.

"Okay." I said. I approached the door and quickly got out of the room. I was feeling a lot of tension right now. As I was about to go to my room, I heard something from mom and dad's room. I placed my ear on the door. Eavesdropping is bad but this looked like important for me.

"Look, can we just let him? I mean, he can pay for himself but he seemed responsible for our daughter." Mom said.

"Yeah, he is. But I don't trust him that much. Look honey, we've always dreamt about going to those places and just have quality time with our family. And your just gonna let one boy take your daughter's time away from you?" Dad exclaimed.

"But this is love we're talking about, Bennett. She desperately loves-"

"Love? Love has nothing to do with this. We're going to that vacation without him whether she likes it or not!!" Dad shouted. His words left my heart aching.

I quickly ran downstairs and quietly made a run for the door. I can still hear them fight upstairs. I want to go to the guys' house and tell James. But I can't 'cause I don't have a car. I looked outside and saw Philip taking out his trash.

Wait, Philip has a car. Maybe he can drive me. I quietly opened the door and sneaked out. I ran to Philip's house, approached his door a and knocked. He opened the door with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Bella. What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I-I need to talk to you."

"Sure.......come in." He said with a worried tone. We sat down and Philip just stared at me. I think he can see that I looked tensed.

"So....what do you want to talk about?" He said, breaking the silence in the ambiance.

"Philip, we have a...family vacation and we're leaving on Friday. I asked my parents if James could come but they said no. So, could you please drive me to their place so that I can tell him this?" I asked. He just nodded in response.
