I started taking uppers to see him, staying alive. Beginning to seclude myself became a loner. That’s when the voices started talking. Scared the shit out of me that is, until we became friends. They told me the secret to finding him; stay up all night. Wait.

I waited, and then the voices told me to pretend I was sleeping, and he would come. I did. Just like that; I felt a presence in my room. Anticipation. Excitement. I turned over (maybe I should be an actress..?) groggily. Waiting. Aiming. Finally he was in sight, I pounced. Tackled him.

“You’re real.” I stated frankly. Smiling, I couldn’t hide my delight. “Yes, I am. I always have been, love.” He said with a velvet voice. “Why have you never came me?” I asked. Hiding tears. He didn’t try to hide his embarrassment, “I have come to you, every night! Slept in your bed! Watched you become strung out, all because of me.” I had no idea what to say. I had been searching for this. I felt connected to him, in more ways than one.

We stared at each other for what seemed like forever. Then, his lips captured mine. The voices were fighting over this, wondering if they were letting me be vulnerable.  I shushed them. Was this love? We kissed for a long time. Finally I broke away; breathless.

Something in his eyes, told me he had been searching for this, yearning for it. I knew impulsively what to do. I kissed him again, but this time, I made his hands investigate my body. The voices quieted after deciding- my search for love was over.
