Misty's P.O.V
"Where are you taking me?" I ask noticing that with every step, the tree growth gets thicker.
"Wait," a thought pops into my mind and I take a step back, "Your not taking me into the woods to kill me, are you?"
"Relax, we're not here to kill you. We are helping you, remember?" Brenton says, with a reassuring smile.
I lower my gaze and continue to walk with them.
"Here we are, home sweet home," Dawn says, opening the door for me.
"What a gentleman," I tease as I walk through the doorway.
"Wow," I look around the house in amazement, "A real living room and a kitchen!" I exclaim, running right into Brenton.
"Sorry, I..I uh," I stutter, suddenly nervous around him.
"It's ok," Brenton says, patting me on my shoulder and walking into the living room.
"Make yourself at home, I will be back with a bandage," Dawn says.
I take a seat on a couch across from the seat Brenton is sitting in. I sigh in comfort as I sink into the soft material of the coach.
"Hey, tough girl, what's your name?" Brenton asks, looking at me.
"Oh, I'm Misty" I say, looking up at him.
"How did you get a name like that?" Brenton questions as he leans back into his seat.
"Long story," I say with a shrug, trying to change the subject.
The truth was, my real name was Mia before my parents kicked me out. I had changed it to Misty when my life changed. On a hot day, I could summon water and it would turn into mist.
"I have the first aid kit!" Dawn announces, walking into the room, a box and pair of sharp scissors to cut the bandages in his hand.
The time seems to slow down as Dawn trips on the rug, the scissors in his hand go airborne, heading towards my heart.
My limbs aren't responding to my screaming mind, telling me to move. Before the scissors can reach me, a gust of wind blows the window open, flinging the scissors to the side.
I look up to see Dawn drop his raised hand and share a look with Brenton.
"What was that?" I ask.
"Nothing," Brenton says firmly, "It just gets really winding here."
"Let's look at your injury," Dawn says, changing the subject.
I let him tend to my wound as my eyes flicker between the two boys. They weren't telling me something.
"There we go," Dawn breaks the silence.
I look down at the white bandage over my arm, "Thank you."
"No problem," Dawn says, packing up the first aid kit.
I wait until Dawn has left the room before looking into Brenton's eyes, the same flame seems to flicker in them from before.
I look over to Dawn as he walks into the room and sits down next to me on the coach.
Dawn's raised hand....
Brenton's eyes...."You're both Elementals," I say, everything has finally clicked.
Dawn's eyes widen and the flame in Brenton's eyes brightens.
"Dawn," Brenton voice is hard and angry.
"Sorry," Dawn whispers softy to me before I am flung back onto the wall, an invisible presence holding me up.
"Stop," I choke out, the invisible presence closing around my neck.
"Dawn, let go slightly, just enough so she can breathe," Brenton instructs.
Dawn's outstretched hand relaxes slightly and I feel the air flood back into my lungs.
"How did you know we're Elementals?" Brenton questions fiercely.
"Brenton, there is no need to scare the poor girl," Dawn reasons.
"I'm not scared of either of you," I whisper out.
"That's the worst thing you could have said," Dawn mutters as Brenton's eyes snap over to look at me.
"I don't think you really understand who you're talking to, girly. Dawn here is the wind Elemental, he controls the air you breathe," Brenton steps closer to me, "I'm the fire Elemental, I could burn the skin right of off you bones."
"Brenton!" Dawn yells, "We don't know that she works for the Dark Lord! Don't threaten her."
Dark Lord?
"She recognised that we were Elementals after just one day! She is obviously trained to recognise people like us!" Brenton says, clearly getting frustrated at Dawn now.
"I don't," I start to explain.
"No!" Brenton yells, he lifts his hand and a flame erupts out of it, hitting me straight in the chest.
My vision goes black, the force around me disappears and I collapse onto the floor.
