Misty's P.O.V

I open my eyes and look straight ahead were the house is.

I feel my back rubbing against tree bark. A thick rope is tied around my waist. They've tied me to a tree! When I find a way to escape, they are so dead.

"Tough girl woke up," I look up to see Brenton walking out the house door.

"Idiot," I spat at him, while glaring.

"What did I do?" Brenton says with fake innocence, giving me a smirk.

"I don't know, oh wait! It might have something with you trying to kill me and leaving me tied to a tree all night!" I say, raising my voice.

In response, he just laughs.

"Look, if this makes you feel any better, Dawn and I stayed out here last night taking turns watching over you," he says, smiling at me.

I feel my cheeks go red with a blush. Why am I feeling this way around him?

I tried moving away from the tree, in attempt to kick the living daylights out of him.

"Ahh!" I scream out, a horrible pain coming from my chest.

"Careful," Brenton says, walking over to me.

He lifts my shirt and I see my entire chest is covered in bandages.

"Sorry, I didn't mean the burn to be that bad," I can tell that Brenton's apology is not empty.

"That's okay," I say softly, "I'm more concerned on how comfortable you are with lifting a girl's shirt."

I watch as Brenton's cheeks flush red, "I.. it was just.... I knew about the.." he stutters.

I shake my head with a smile, "I'll forget about it if you untie me."

Brenton's eyes meet mine, one of his perfectly sculpt eyebrows raised.

"Okay," he answers, pulling a knife from his pocket.

I hold my breath as Brenton steps closer to me, reaching behind me and begins to cut the ropes with the knife.

I've never notice how tall Brenton is until now, when I'm staring directly at his shoulder. Butterflies awake in my stomach.

"There we go," Brenton whispers in my ear and I feel the ropes drop to the floor.

He pulls back slightly, not stepping away. Our eyes lock together, his fire ones with my sky blue ones. Bringing a hand up, Brenton tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Thanks," I break the silence, "Now let me go."

Brenton frowns lightly before stepping back.

"Well, now we just have to wipe your memory and then you can go," Brenton jokes. I smile back at him.

"Guys! House..... vines" Dawn gasps for air, like he had just ran a marathon.

All of an sudden, the house breaks open. Hundreds of thousands of vines grow out of the roof and windows, crushing the entire house.

"Dawn, be on guard," Brenton says, raising his hands in a ready position.

A high pitch laugh goes through the air, sending chills up my spine.

"Look at all of you," a feminine voice up, "And only one of me. Wouldn't exactly call that a fair fight."

A girl steps out from behind a tree. Her hair is a caramel colour, with green highlights. Golden embroidery covers her green clothing, a long sleeved half-shirt with a flowing skirt.

She's wearing knee high boots and in her hand a golden staff.

Her bright green eyes find mine, "Misty, I presume. I'm Narkar, nature Elemental. I can be your best friend or worst nightmare."

Narkar smiles at me with a fake sweetness.

"Narkar, what do you want?" Brenton asks firmly, stepping in front of me.

Narkar draws her eyes over to Brenton, "Brenton, is that you? Haven't you grown up. Why did you have to leave? I miss you."

Narkar pouts but Brenton returns it with a hard glare.

"Go away Narkar, you are not wanted here," Dawn speaks up.

"Dawny, you were a child last time I saw you. My did DL do a good job of raising you," Narkar looks Dawn up and down.

"Who's DL?" I ask.

A smile appears on Narkar's face, "DL, Dark Lord. He's the most powerful person around. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the Keemer."

"Keemer?" I question.

Narkar shakes her head, "Have the boys told you nothing?"

"We have told her what she needs to know," Brenton says.

"I don't think you have, she doesn't really now who you are," Narkar twirls her staff in her hand, "But I could tell you everything Misty, you can trust me."

She was right, I didn't really know who these boys were. But I did know that they were also Elementals, that they were like me.

But so was she.

"Thanks, but I already have people to trust," I reply.

Narkar's smile turns twisted, "I was hopping you would say that."

Narkar raises her staff, a green light forming from it.

"Misty, run!" Brenton yells as the lights flashes brightly.

I turn to run but find myself falling to the floor. Looking towards my ankles, I realise that vines are growing out of the ground and wrapping themselves around my ankles and legs.

"Brenton, take care of the vines on Misty. I'll hold Narkar off," Dawn instructs, running off.

Brenton run overs to me and kneels down. By now, the vines have curled themselves around my waist and started on my arms.

"Tell me if I start to burn you too badly," Brenton's tone is dead serious.

"What do you mea-ah!" The heat radiating from Brenton's hands is beyond painful.

"I'm sorry Misty, hold on there. These are enchanted vines, the can't be destroyed another way," Brenton explains, sounding slightly distressed.

I bite my lip as Brenton moves his hands, the vines crumbling into ash. When enough vines are off, Brenton pulls the weaker ones off.

I roll to the side, the feeling of the vines still on my skin. I look up to see Brenton running to help Dawn.

Together, the seem to have created a fire tornado, entrapping Narkar.

Dawn flips his hand up, Narkar's figure flying out of the tornado and towards the southern end of the city.

I close my eyes and put my head on the floor, somewhat exhausted.
