I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. I was editing the video I had just recorded alone. The guys were out having a meeting or something about an upcoming trip to America. PAX South I'm pretty sure is what it was called. I looked down at my phone when I heard it vibrate and a smile tugged at my lips when I saw Simon's name on the screen. I had his name in my phone as 'Si 🖤' (If you cannot see the emoji it is just a simple black heart, even though the next part of the sentence explains it. :)) and every time I saw the black heart I smiled.
Simon:
I'm so bored and I miss you. Halp xxxMackenzie:
Poor baby :(I wasn't very sympathetic and Simon knew that. He also knew I struggled with emotions so he didn't hold the whole lovey dovey couple thing against me. Everyone knew we were dating except for the fans. Hell we've only been dating for about a week.
Simon:
Meeting's over in fifteen. Be home soon for cuddles xxxxxxI didn't reply and locked my phone again, placing it beside me. I knew I wouldn't be done editing by the time they got home, but at least I could try.

Mackenzie danced along to the music blasting from the speakers as Simon laughed, adjusting the glasses on his nose. They were on their way to get some food after the boys' had their small meeting. Mackenzie never finished editing, which she predicted. "Simon!" Mackenzie squealed before her voice was drown out by the sound of metal clashing together. A drunk driver was speeding and swerving constantly into the other lane, eventually at the same exact time Simon's red Range Rover passed them. The Range Rover was now destroyed, along with two of Mackenzie's ribs and a small portion of Simon's left wrist. Their wounds were not fatal, though if one of Mackenzie's fractured ribs were to puncture a vital organ, they could be.

I squinted to try and focus my vision. It just didn't seem to be happening any
time soon, so I gave up, allowing myself to see double everything. Mackenzie and I were having fun just a moment ago. Now, I felt myself slipping in and out of consciousness. My ears were ringing and my head was throbbing but I still looked to my left to see Mackenzie's limp body sitting there. She was bleeding from her side and her head but besides that she looked okay. Though the gash on her head looked pretty bad and at the rate blood was soaking into her shirt the one on her side must be pretty bad as well. The sound of sirens were the last things I heard before everything went black.*Mackenzie's POV*

You'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to think that driving under the influence was okay. I knew I wasn't the smartest, but I had never driven while I was drunk or high. I took a deep shaky breath as the doctor explained to me exactly what happened. Breathing hurt, sitting up hurt, laying down hurt. No matter what I did the pain in my side was pretty bad. I still hadn't seen or talked to Simon or anyone else since the accident two days ago and, at this rate, I didn't know if they even wanted to see me. The doctor insisted I 'rest up' before I see anyone. Which was ridiculous. Though today I should be able to see at least Josh since he was family. "So we have to let the ribs heal on their own and I understand that it is very painful but you can take pain relievers to subside the pain." He explained. I nodded. "Now, would you like to see some of your family?" He asked. I perked up at that and looked at him, nodding. I had adjusted my bed so I could relax sitting up and I looked him in the eyes for a brief moment before he left the room briskly. I hadn't even had my phone since the accident. The screen was shattered but I was pretty sure Josh had taken it to get it fixed this morning. At least the nurse said something about that. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard my name coming from the doorway. I looked over quickly to see Josh standing there with a concerned expression. He looked as if he hadn't slept in days and I felt like that was the truth. "God Josh were you the one who got hit by a truck?" I asked. He rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry when my best friend and basically my sister get into a fucking car accident I didn't realize I was supposed to come to the hospital in Versace." He snapped. I raised my eyebrows at him. "I didn't ask for sass." I said. He sighed as he made he way to me. "I'm sorry I've just been so worried." He said as he plopped down in the chair beside my bed. I chose to ignore the part where he called me his sister. I knew he had a somewhat of an emotional attachment to me since I was his family and he felt the need to protect me at all times, but I didn't know it was that bad. "How are you?" He asked. "I hurt when I do anything but besides that I'm good." I smiled. "I'm sorry, Mackenzie. I -" "How's Simon?" I interrupted him. I had been dying to find out about Simon but I had yet seen anyone eligible to tell me. "He's good. He has a broken wrist and that's it. He's in the waiting room with everyone else right now." Josh answered. "Everyone's here?" I asked, not even hiding the surprise in my voice. Back in Texas, if I were in the hospital for anything the only person in the waiting room would be Peyton. And she was gone. Not forgotten. She's been replaced with seven wonderful people. Seven people who could never give up on me, just like she never did. Seven people who would always believe in me, just like she did. "Yeah. Why wouldn't they be?" I heard Josh ask, but I was too busy thinking to reply immediately. I stared at the ceiling and I felt my eyes brim with tears. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing." I said simply. I heard him take in a breath to continue talking so I spoke instead. "When I lived in Texas all I had was Peyton. Now it just blows my mind how there are seven people in that waiting room for me." I admitted. "Well we love you. Just like Peyton did." He said. I felt his hand touch my shoulder and I had to bring my hand up to wipe a tear that slowly trailed down my face. The thought of anyone besides Peyton loving me was unimaginable four months ago. Now, it was a reality. An indescribably wonderful reality. Of course if you take out the alcohol, drugs, and the fact that life is so fucking hard when you're sober then it's an indescribably wonderful reality.
