"Ow," Zayn groaned at the feeling of his feet on the floor, "no, no, stop."

Solána kept her arm around him and stopped moving. "Are you okay?"

"I can't do this, Solána," he huffed crouching down on the floor and crawling into the kitchen. She giggled, following him to see Habibah drinking tea by the counter.

"I take it you had a good sleep last night," she said, watching Zayn crawl towards the refrigerator, "I just didn't know you got another dog."

"Shush," Solána smiled at her friend before sitting beside her, "thank you, Habibah. You don't understand how much this means to me. What can I do--"

"Nothing," she smiled back and wrapped an arm around the younger girl's shoulders, "not a damn thing. I just like to help. Plus, a pure and innocent little woman like you doesn't deserve that heartbreak."

"Hey," Zayn stood to his feet and tried to breathe normally, "what's your name?"

"Habibah," she replied with a small smile, "first mermaid ever. Who are you?"

"Zayn. Regular guy."

"Ah, and this makes you mermaid number...fifty five thousand and seventh two. Merman number ten thousand and twelve. Congrats."

"Sure, uh, do you have any advice on how my feet can't hurt while I walk?"

"I have all the advice. You've got to heal them while you walk, then the pain will stop."

"I wish I was told this," Solána muttered sadly, watching Zayn take each step carefully, like he was going to fall, "you got it now, Zayn."

"At least I can stand for a while."

"Well, I'd love to chat but I have to get going," Habibah got up and stretched her again.

"Where are you going?" Solána asked in wonder.

"South America. With the new Amazons. It's exciting, because I fit in with all the tall lean dark skin girls. Oh, amazing! I was meant for this."

"I'm gonna miss you," Solána pouted and spread her arms out, "hug me."

"Uh, no."

"Habib--"

"Don't touch me -- my goodness," she huffed when Solána wrapped her arms around her, "Solána."

"Hug me back, because I might never see you again."

"Okay, one, you will, because you've become a favorite of mine, and two, we have forever. Three, listen to what I told you about that telepathy thing, it works wonders, ya know," she turned them away from Zayn and whispered, "I'm coming to your wedding."

"Okay," Solána giggled and hugged her anyway and tried not to cry, "hug me back or I'm never letting go."

"This is actually very comfortable, so do what you want," Habibah rolled her eyes and hugged her back, kissing her forehead, "you know how to contact me, Solána."

"Okay. Take that Bloodhound with you."

"And do what?"

"Feed it. He's not staying here with my baby."

"Yes he is," Habibah gave her a face and put her hand out, "I fixed him so now he's a nice dog with a great sense of smell."

"But my dog is scared--" Zayn started.

"Well, I'm not Jesus, okay?" she threw her arms up and groaned.

"You're the mermaid Jesus," Solána told her with a smile, one that Habibah reciprocated, "you know it's true."

"Okay," she gave up and snarled, "your dog children will get along fine, God. I have to go now, the Amazons are calling me," she walked to Zayn, sort of looking down at his slouching figure, he was stuffing his face with leftover burgers, "you're a small man, keep eating."

"Uh, thanks?" he swallowed his food and gave her a look, "well, thanks for like, bringing me back to life and shit."

"No problem," she stuck her chin up and furrowed her brows, "you don't wish to be taller?"

"No, what?" he stood up straighter and frowned.

"Hm, what a waste of a flawless face," she flipped her hair and walked towards the back door, "Solána, I love you, I'll see you in a while."

"I love you too, bye!" the young girl watched Habibah leave, walking through the tall grass and thick leaves.

"Am I really that short?"

Solána put a hand to her face and groaned. "No, you're fine, Zayn."

"Okay, but she's like twelve feet--"

"You two were the same height!"

"Yeah!" he replied in a duh tone, "and she called me short."

"Oh my goodness, you're fine," Solána wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled, "if it makes you feel better, I like to reach up and kiss you, since I'm so much shorter."

"I do feel better, I'd feel even better if you did it."

She smiled, standing on her tippy toes and kissing his lips. Zayn kissed her back, grinning and holding her hips in place.

"I love you, my little nugget."

"I love you too, peanut head," she kissed him again and pulled back, "you don't get how upset I was, but I'm really happy I get to keep you longer."

"Don't be sad, baby. I'm back," he bit his lip at her, "and...I kinda wanna fuck you on the couch."

Solána blushed, letting him lead her towards the furniture and straddling his lap. "You feel those merman hormones, huh?"

"Yeah, and I've been looking at your ass since I woke up," he reached down in her pants, making her moan and roll her hips just once. Solána stripped down slowly, making sure Zayn was making eye contact before crouching down before him.

"No, no, no," he changed, pulling her back up and shaking his head, "I just came back to life and I don't plan on dying again."

"What?"

"Just..." his heartrate slowed down and Solána eased herself on top of him, "God."

She hugged his shoulders and moved her lower half up and down, creating desired friction and making sure Zayn could see the way she moved. He cursed several times, spanking her ass and squeezing her thighs, anything to make her cry out, because that was his favorite thing to do.

"Just like...that," Zayn struggled to say as she moved on top of him. Her legs shook rapidly and he watched her convulse for a brief moment before he came, kissing her lips and making sure she knew he loved her to death. Literally.

Zayn held Solána for the rest of that night, never letting go and making sure she was comfortable. It was about three in the morning when she stopped replying to what he was talking about and fell asleep, curled up and happy as fuck that he was back in her life.

Zayn kissed the side of Solána's face, staring at her sleeping and smiling at how lucky he was. He got a second chance at life and now, he realized he had it all, just her and his dog and a pretty new form of transportation he had to get used to.
