I turned around, terrified to find nothing. "H-hello?" I call out into the now dark forest. I gripped my satchel strap.
" Je vous jure que j'ai entendu quelque chose..." ( I swear I heard something) I mumbled.
"En effet, vous avez fait". (Indeed you did) The same voice said. I spun around, coming face to face with a person.

He smiled, revealing white, sharp fangs protruding from his mouth. I swallow a gasp and manage to whisper. " You.....are....a vampire..."
"Ahhh. I seems you know about us. Well, my name is Fallacy -"
"King of vampires." I finished for him. I cleared my throat, hiding any evidence of fear towards him. I stuck my hand out and smiled. "Et mon nom est Encre." (And my name is Encre)
He shook my hand smiling as well, never letting his guard down. ' This should totally fool him for now.'
" Well, I should really get going now. C'était agréable de vous rencontrer." ( It was nice meeting you ) I spun around on my heels and sped away, back down the small path I was walking on earlier.
~Time skip~
By the time I got to the castle, it was already 7:00. ' half an hour late is better than not turning up at all, I guess.'
" Hello my dear artist!"
I turned around to find that the Queen herself was greeting me. " Bonjour lady Elaine, je suis désolé d'être venu en retard." ( Hello lady Elaine, I'm sorry for coming late.)
"Oh please, don't be so formal. Just call me Elizabeth. You don't have to apologize, you probably didn't want to come anyways seeing as you don't like to do anything other than painting and dancing, right?" She raised her blonde brow.
" Ah. Yes. I also came because Eterna said something about the royal family expecting me." I took off my coat and walked besides the Queen to wherever she was going. " No. We weren't expecting you to come, even if you heard that. But since you did, you can try to cheer up Molly." She glanced at me, her crystal blue eyes gazing over my clothes and every other little detail. " What has happened to her?" I was pretty much her counselor or best friend when it came to cheering her up. " Well, it's our duty to have records from the villages that we own, which is currently 1, so when Molly and I were doing record keeping, she went to where your name was, but she couldn't find it. She asked all of the maids to search the castle and they still not have found anything.
She's been so isolated. She skips her classes, and doesn't eat with us in the dining area, she doesn't come out of her room unless it's to pick up a few books at the library." She sighs and then I looked at her. She looked completely exhausted without her usual smile.
" So.... my records are causing this?" I asked, remembering something my uncle said to my mom when I was much smaller. " Yes. I'm afraid she's fallen for you." She said it as if she resented me. As if.....she didn't like the things happening. I didn't like her in that way, but it would be best if her mother broke us up.
" I um....I don't like her as much as she likes me." I whispered.
