I stroked three more times at the cherry blossom tree that I was making on a canvas, each stroke blending the brown paint into the tree. Madam Molly, Queen Elain's daughter, requested a simple tree to decorate her walls. I looked at the red alarm clock that was standing on my nightstand. It read 1:50 am. I looked back at the painting, setting my paintbrush down, I mumbled in French, " C'est assez bon."

I yawned, stretching my bones until I hear a satisfying popping sound. I changed into my jammies and flopped onto my bed, clapping to turn off the lights. ' Probably gonna have to bring it to her room tomorrow.'

Then I closed my eyes, thinking of the rumor of vampires coming out at night and the curfew in the village. ' Isn't it supposed to be at 9:00 pm?' Whatever. I scrunched my face in disgust as I thought of what I would have to put up with tomorrow. Tomorrow was the twins birthday so everyone had to be in the castle tomorrow. I wasn't sure what time we were supposed to be there, but I wasn't going. I had a ton of orders to make, and each one were of different things, two in the Forbidden Forest. I sigh as I toss and turn, thinking of excuses to make that were good enough to not make the council mad.

Tem skip to 6 hours and 30 min later (8:00 am)

I sat up in my bed, leaning against the wall, drawing a picture of a vampire. I've read a lot of vampire stories that might not have been real, but it was certainly descriptive enough with real details of the clothing and their powers. Whoever made the books must have seen a real vampire to know all of the facts.

Then my doorbell rang. " Encre? Encre, are you in there?! It was Eterna. " Je serai là! " I called. I popped a peppermint into my mouth and made my way to the door. I unlocked the door and took a peek. It was both Eterna and Dr. Lofty. " I had heard that you weren't going to the royal celebration tonight. Is that true? Because I know for a fact that you are a noble man and you wouldn't do anything to offend the royal family in any way, right?" She rambled. " Ce qui ? " (what?). I finally answered her.

" Are you, or are you not going?" She asked, crossing her arms.
