*Andrew's POV*
I still can not believe it. Artemis. She likes me? Me of all people. I am just this annoying asshole who just transferred. This just doesn't make any sense. It can not possibly make any sense. Who am I to her. Plus she just hanged up on me! How rude! I would think that she had some sort of sense of politeness. I really want to know what she wants from me. She is still so unpredictable so I'm so worried. She seems like a person who would ask the most ridiculous thing ever. I fell asleep scared what she might tell me tomorrow.
The Next Day:
I couldn't sleep at all since I was so scared. It really bothered me. I think I only got an hour of sleep. This is going to be an issue today. I have baseball after school at 7 so i'm going to not get much sleep tonight either. I arrived to school after my mom dropped me off. I walked to my locker and grabbed my books then walked to the benches in front of the classrooms to set down my bag. I go and grab a basketball then walk down to the courts.
I begin shooting when I see Art walking toward me. Then someone walks up behind me and puts their petite hands over my eyes. I asked,"All right who is it?"
A soft and cute voice responds,"Someone." It is so Artemis. Only she would do this or sound like that.
"Art?" I asked inquisitively.
"Maybe........." She moved her hands away and I turned around to see my favorite little girl standing right in front of me, Artemis. "Ok you got me. Ha ha."
"Haha. So do you have a request for me?" I asked as if I was trying to extract information from her.
She told me, "Ya. I do."
I passed the ball to her as I said, "Ok. Shoot it at me."
"Alright. So my request is for you to not flirt with me publicly. Ever." She had been dribbling the ball in place as she said her painful words. After she said "Ever." She shot the ball from the 3 point line, and she made it. All net too! I can't even do that!I never knew she was that athletic. I thought that she was just cute. My jaw dropped and I stared at her unable to comprehend the event before my eyes. I looked around to see if they saw it too. Nope. No one was around. That sucks. Well for me at least. I stared at her again and she flipped her hair at me! How dare she! Meanie.
"Oh you are so mean. Ouch. That, that's so hard!! You're so cute, it's hard not to."
"Ya sorry but the fact that us two are such opposites, it's hard to show it without ridicule from our friends."
"Fine. I will suck it up then."
The bell rang and we went to our classes
A Week Later:
So a week has passed, and I have found it so so very hard to keep my feelings for Artemis contained. Every time I see her, I can't help but want to make her completely mine.
Later on before our 3rd period class, the whole entire class was discussing sports for some odd reason. Next to me sat Cara, Artemis's best friend. I whispered to her, "Hey Cara."
"Ya what?" She said with annoyance in her voice.
"Since the whole class is discussing sports, don't you play any?" I asked.
"No. Not really." She told me.
"Wow. I'm shocked."
"Actually. I do one sport, cheer."
I stared at her as though I was going to laugh so hard at her. "Cheer isn't a sport. It's just an activity."
Cara stared at me angrily, "Excuse me but cheer is a sport."
"No it isn't." At this point i could see Artemis looking at me and listening to our conversation.
"Ya well it is."
"Andrew, she is right. Cheer was officially made a sport as of this school year." Artemis interrupted my conversation with Cara with a very studious tone of voice.
"No. It isn't a sport." I told little Artemis. Like since when was it one.
At Lunch:
Artemis handed me a $20 and told me to go buy her and myself lunch. Why on earth would she do that? All I see is her go and sit down next to all the guys. She usually doesn't do this but today she really felt like doing something out of the ordinary. What's worse is that the line was insane and she made me stand in it. Why? After I got us two lunch, she calls out to me, "Hey Andrew!" I walked toward her and eventually sat down across from her. I placed her lunch in front of her along with the rest of her money. She grabbed the money and put it into her wallet. "Thanks Andrew." She told me. I had better get a thank you after the pain she put me through. I had to buy a Pepsi. Cringe. I prefer Coke. I can not stand Pepsi. She leaned in closer to me and asked, "So Andrew, what possessed you to think that Cheer is not a sport? Cheerleaders throw 100 pound girls and football players throw 2 pound balls. And we Cheerleaders well, we actually catch what we throw."
"Well I just don't think it is. I wasn't possessed." I told her calmly.
"How come you think Cheer isn't a sport?"
"Well it's because cheerleaders aren't paid a lot, they are televised, and well when they are, it's because guys are perverted jerks, plus they don't compete that much. So. Ya that's why I don't think that cheer is a sport."
"False. False. False. Well guys are perverted jerks. That is so true. Cheer is not really appreciated for what they do. You need to go hit the books and check your facts because you are so wrong."
"Oh how so?"
"Everything. First of all, cheer is underappreciated so they do not get the pay they deserve. Even with high pays, the cost to be a cheerleader is very high. Uniforms alone are well over $500 (Actually I think it is closer to $400 but it is for the point.) Let's not get started on poms. Or on living costs. Dude staying that fit is hard work. Second, Cheer is televised on cheer based networks. Third, Cheer competitions happen worldwide and some do get televised." Artemis looked pretty proud with herself. She looked as though she just dropped the mic after an epic rap battle or something. I decided to shut up about the whole thing and so we just sat there in silence. I guess the subject is so touchy, that we shouldn't even try to talk about it what so ever. I tried to generate some simple small talk but it didn't get to far. I tried to ask her like what she likes and stuff. Artemis completely ignored me. She finished eating and was about to leave when I thanked her for lunch. She just gave me a simple "You welcome." Thats it! Little rude much? I just sat there in disbelief at what she said.
Later on in the day, I tried to text her and stuff but I think she was so mad because I called cheer not a sport, she completely didn't respond to my text even though I knew that she had read it. Rude. R-U-D-E. Maybe she is PMSing. Haha.
Hey guys. So I'm a little less depressed but I'm still feeling like shit emotionally. I freaking chucked my whole damn life out the door. So ya. People suck.
