"Grand Prix Finals are just around the corner, Victor! I know you will make me proud." I skate up to him and bring him into a tight hug that I don't want to ever end. I realise that I'm holding my whole world in my arms, and I squeeze him even harder. Tears drop from my eyes, he's grown into a new person and I love him even more, I love him more than words can explain, I love him more than I knew I could love. He's taught me that I'm not a nobody, I am a somebody that is needed in this world.
"Yuri, can I tell you something?" Victor whispers into my ear.
"Mm." I say, trying not to break out of this special moment.
"I didn't come here because you were a ridiculously good figure skater that I wanted to learn from, I came here because I wanted to get to know you, I wanted to build a life with you because I fell in love with you as I watched you skate at the Grand Prix last year and I need you to know that you have given me a new perspective in this world, one that I couldn't find on my own. Thank you for that, for everything, I love you." Victor tells me. Tears that I am just managing to keep from falling starting rapidly dropping onto Victor and the ice. I have found the reason why I am alive, and I am hugging him right now. I never want this to end.
"Victor... I love you" I sob. I can't believe how lucky I am. I hug him even tighter than before. "Please don't let go."
