A/N
Hey! It's another short one, but hey, I wrote it during one study hall, that's pretty good more me. Plus, I like how it ends, teehee.Anyways, we get to see from Dylan's POV this time. Yay!
If anyone cares, once I finish this story, I plan to go back and add a few more chapters in Dylan's POV.
Enjoy~

I open my eyes to find two beady onix eyes staring at me through silver bars. The last of my sleep vanishes and I scramble backwards, hitting my back on more chilly metal bars. The eyes seem to light up, and maniacal laughter fills the room.
I'm back at the lab? I wonder to myself, glancing around frantically. Other cages line the walls, but they all seem empty. A lone light flickers periodically on the ceiling, casting a dim light over the room.
"No, no my dear boy." A raspy voice chuckles from the room, bouncing around as if coming from multiple places at once. "You never left." It informs me. The light flashes brightly like a flash of lightning, revealing a man standing in the middle of the room. He wears a white lab coat, with slick back black hair and dark eyes.
"Dr. Linder." I spit out, glaring down the man in the dim light. He grins at me, sending chills down my spine.
"Ah my boy is smart." Dr. Linder acknowledges, smiling brightly.
"Don't call me that." I growl, grabbing the bars of my cage. "I am, and never will be yours."
Dr. Linder only laughs, "We will see about that."
I growl, but choose to let it go, sitting back down in the middle of the cage. Crossing my arms, I glare directly at the monster before me. "Where is Liz." I order, clenching my jaw.
"Liz you say? Why, she's right here." He steps sideways, revealing a video screen I hadn't noticed before. On the screen I see Liz's smiling face; her aquamarine eyes sparkling brightly. She beats her white wings steadily, the wind blowing her messy brown hair around wildly. As I watch, tears fill my eyes, but I can't tell if they're from the relief that Liz is safe, or the pain that the past few months had only been a hallucination.
"You see my dear boy, as long as you're here, she will be happy." Dr. Linder says, breaking into my thoughts.
I tear my eyes away from the screen glancing at him, "What?" I squeak.
The scientist's grin widdens, "She's happier without you, don't you see?"
I turn back to the screen to find that another figure has appeared next to Liz. My heart skips a beat, and I open my mouth to warn her when she turns to the new person, a large smile on her face. The new person flaps two large brown and white wings in unison with hers, smiling back. Suddenly I recognize the shaggy black hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Mack." I whisper, pain filling my chest.
"You see my boy, she doesn't need you anymore." Dr. Linder says through the loud ringing in my ears.
"She doesn't need me anymore." I repeat absentmindedly, my heart breaking.
"And that is why you must kill her." He tells me.
"I must kill her." I mimic, staring blankly at her smiling face.
"She must die." I whisper, blinking my eyes open. "Liz must die."
