Clouds dissipate into the air, opening up to the twinkling night sky. I push my wings down, riding the steadily blowing wind that throws me even higher in the never ending expanse.
By glancing down, I still see the dark winding path hidden below the outcropping of trees. A path well hidden, that a human with normal vision would never notice. I'm getting close.
I've been flying for close to three days now, stopping periodically for rest and food. Now, I fly over the mountainous ranges of Tennessee. The information given to me with Seiza's dying breath, confirmed by Richard's knowledge; Periodic Solution Center's lab is here, and so is Mack.
I flap my wings once more, the feathers tingling with what? Fear? Anger? My whole body aches with a nauseating feeling, that only increases as I near my destination.
I breathe in deeply, closing my wings slightly to begin my decent. I'm close now, I can feel it, but I must rest first.
As I near the ground, I stick my legs out below me, opening my wings a bit more to further slow my decent. Once I am close enough, I close my wings quickly, dropping to the ground and immediately falling to my knees. My limbs shake, and a pain vibrates through my entire body, making me drop suddenly as if being pinned down by a supernatural force.
Pain and exhaustion seems to overcome my senses, and I fall to the ground, my eyes closing and darkness consuming me.

Through the darkness, I feel a force shaking me. A distant sound reaches my ears, though I can't seem to make out what it is. My body feels numb and tired, and I squeeze my eyes shut tighter. Leave me alone, I want to sleep. I think to myself, though I don't have the energy to say it out loud. Eventually the sound begins to grow louder, and I faintly make it out..."Liz!...Liz!..Liz, please wake up!"
I sit with a start, hair falling into my face. I sit, breathing heavily as if waking from a nightmare. The voice starts beside me, "Oh thank goodness Liz! I thought you were dead!"
I turn to the person, dark gray eyes staring back at me. "Dylan?" I whisper confused.
Dylan reaches out, gently brushing the hair out of my face. "Yeah, it's me. Are you okay?"
I ignore his question, glancing around the area. I finally recall where I am, and why I'm here, but why is Dylan here?
"How'd you get here?" I ask him, pushing myself up and brushing dirt and leaves from my clothes and hair. I flutter my wings, shaking leaves from the feathers and look at Dylan, waiting for an answer.
He stands beside me, shaking out his own feathers before closing his wings. "When I awoke to find you missing, I knew where you had gone, so I forced Richard to tell me what he knew then took off." He explains, rubbing the back of his neck.
I glance down at his side. "Does it hurt still?" I question, bringing my eyes back up to meet his. To say I'm not angry with him for following me here would be an understatement, but yelling at him for it right now wouldn't do much good.
Dylan lowers his hand, rubbing his side gently. "It's still a tad sore, but I can deal with it. You've pushed through worse pain to help me." He smiles brightly, cocking his head at me like a little child.
Something's off with him... I think to myself, silently studying him, but what?
"Are you feeling alright Liz?" Dylan's voice cuts into my thoughts. "I think you should sit down." He reaches out, resting a hand on my shoulder.
