Chapter 1: Walking the magic
Big time rush: paralysedBeatrice Evans is a sixteen year old girl who possesses the necklace of desires, given to her by her mom right before she died. The necklace can grant her anything she desires.
Her mom passed away two years ago when she was fourteen, and she missed her everyday. Her real sad, Zac, died when she was just a baby. She lives with her step-dad, Tom whom she has grown to have a strong bond with.
"No, no. See it goes like this." Said Cody, her boyfriend, before holding a pen and a book. He had been tutoring Bea with subjects she wasn't good at. Right now, he was trying to teach her algebraic. They were in Bea's room sitting on her desk. He was a pretty good tutor.
He never tried to pressure Bea which was what she liked. She sucked at algebraic, so it was hard to follow. She didn't like the idea of her boyfriend teaching her algebraic. It was just awkward in a way. It was hard for her to even tell him that she sucked at algebraic. She didn't want him thinking she was dump or anything.
But Tom insisted. She had to pull her math grade up. But she didn't even understand why she had to do this. I mean, she had a magical necklace. She could do anything. But Tom didn't want her to use magic on her studies.
Lyla, Cody's mother, was with Tom, Bea's step dad down in the living room. Lyla had come with Cody when he said he had to tutor Bea. Tom and Lyla were down there, laughing and talking. After a long time of realizing how in love Tom and Lyla were, everyone realized how they made the perfect couple.
Bea was really happy for them, but she couldn't hide this fear inside her. The way they were so in love with each other, there was no way that they wouldn't get married sooner or later. And if that happens, then her boyfriend would become her step brother.
That was so freaky beyond so many levels. Having a boyfriend as a step brother? Was that even legal?
"Okay, now you do it." Said Cody before he handed her the pen and note book. She took a deep breath before trying to do the equation. She was really thankful for Cody helping her out.
"Tell me something gifted genius." She looked at Cody. "Do you like get straight As in every single subject ?"
"Pretty much. What? Do you think I am a nerd now too?" He joked staring at her with his gorgeous brown eyes that matched his perfectly handsome face which just made Bea melt.
"Off course not. Just a real genius." She smiled. She finished the equation and managed to do it right.
"Come on. We've been doing this for over four hours. You need a break." He stood up from the sit.
"Where are we going?"
"For a walk. Come on." He pulled her up from her chair.
They climbed down the stairs heading for the exit. They came across Tom who was coming from the kitchen holding a bowl of cookies.
"Is it just me or is something burning?" Asked Cody after noticing the smell that was coming from the kitchen. The cookies Tom was holding were burned.
"Are those cookies?" Bea laughed.
Tom had left them too long in the oven. He had actually forgotten that he had been making cookies for Lyla."Stop laughing. I am trying to impress Lyla." He said unable to hide his devastation.
"Not with those cookies your are." Giggled Cody
"Okay dad, hold still." Bea said before she held her necklace. The cookies turned from burned cookies to fresh unburned cookies.
