Persephone was afraid to pull away, fearful of rejection, but she had to because of lack of breath. She pulled away slowly and smiled as she stared down at the gray concrete, her cheeks flushed.
Credence was breathless as he took in what just happened, "Sorry," he said shyly.
Persephone just stared at him in awe, "Don't be sorry," she said and smiled slightly.
She cleared her throat, "So I'm guessing this means you like me as well?"
The boy nodded, his cheeks bright red as he looked up at her.
"What does this mean?" she asked and looked down at the ground, trying to wrap her head around their situation.
"Well, typically I'd take you on a date," he told her and smiled timidly.
"Then a date it is," Persephone said and took his hand. They walked back to the diner where Queenie and Tina were waiting anxiously.
As soon as they walked in, Queenie grinned and felt proud of her baby sister.
"Wow, he's a great kisser, Peony. If he wasn't already yours, I might have chased after him," she said and winked as she bit her lip.
The littlest Goldstein glared at her older red-head sister, "Stay out of my mind, Queenie."
She only giggled and turned to Credence. He was blushing deeply and Persephone joined him. Tina sighed and smiled slightly for her sister. They were perfect.

A week later, Credence finally takes Persephone out on their date. They went to a small bakery and got some cocoa before going on a little walk through that area of New York. Persephone wanted to dress up but didn't know what to wear so she borrowed a sleeveless dress from her sister. She looked beautiful.
"Thanks for buyin' me cocoa, you didn't have to," she said and smiled as the wind nipped at her nose. She took a sip and still found herself having to wrap her arms around herself for warmth.
"Oh, you're cold," Credence said and immediately took off his large trench coat for Persephone.
She smiled timidly and blushed, "My sister gave me this dress but didn't give me a thick enough coat to pair with," she told him and gratefully put on his coat as she let out a small laugh.
Credence let himself smile slightly, "If it makes you feel any better, you look beautiful."
"Thanks," Persephone blushed deeply and sipped on her cocoa, hoping he didn't notice her deep red cheeks.
The sun was almost setting and Credence grabbed Persephone's hand, leading her to a park to watch the sun set. They sat and stared at the horizon, the moment peaceful. As the sun set, the stars came out to say hello and the two of them stared at the stars in the navy sky.
"Sometimes I wonder if my parents are watching me, if they're one of the stars in the sky," Persephone told Credence softly.
He smiled, "That's lovely."
She turned to look at him, "Where are your parents?"
Credence froze for a second and then sighed, "T-They're dead," he said, breaking the uncomfortable silence.
Persephone instantly frowned, "I'm so sorry," she said gently.
He shook his head, "It's not your fault, you shouldn't be saying sorry."
She shrugged, "It's a habit."
The two of them laid in the grass before Credence decided to speak up.
"They were wizards, my parents," he told her and turned to see her reaction.
Persephone was in shock for a moment, she was trying to comprehend what he had just told her. He was a wizard, and he didn't even tell her. He was then the Second Salem group as a wizard. How was this possible?
"You're a wizard?" she asked and whipped her head over to see his face.
Credence shrugged, "I-I've never shown any magic ability, or at least I think so."
She frowned, "So you're a squib?" she asked and tilted her head.
He looked at her, confused. "What's a squib?"
She smiled slightly, "It's what we call magic folk with no magic."
He nodded slowly and then looked back up at the sky, "I don't know."
"Well if you knew that you had magic parents, then Queenie probably already knows. We need to take you to Tina so we can figure this all out," Persephone said and grinned, hopeful that their romance didn't have to be again the law.
Credence nodded, "That'd be great."
This was the beginning of something big.
