Harper loved Diagon Alley. Even though it meant school was starting again, it also meant she would finally see her friends. They had written each other all Summer, but it wasn't like hanging out in person. "Harper!!!" Yelled three voices. The sound of footsteps echoed through the alley. "I missed you guys so much!" Harper beamed. The four girls shared a hug so long, people must have thought they were glued together. Their parents introduced themselves and followed the girls close behind. First off was Madam Malkin's for new robes. The girls all went to separate racks, corresponding to their house. Zoe held up a black and green robe. "Mom this one fits well!" Zoe called to her mother. "I would like it better if it were blue, but hand it to me and I'll go buy it." Emmaline joked. Harper smiled at how good of a relationship they had.
"Let's go to Florean Flortesque's Ice Cream Parlor! I'm im that kind of mood." Harper announces to the group. "After words we need to hit up Slug & Jiggers Apothecary. I wish I didn't need supplies for potions. Snape scares the shit out me." Bandit complained. Harper's parents and Zoe's mom exchanged looks of concern about Bandit's language, but Bandit's parents weren't even phased.
As they walked out of Slug & Jigger's, Zoe turned to her mother. "Can we go to Magical Menagerie? I just like looking at-" Zoe spoke in the sweetest voice and was interrupted by her mom. "Zoe what do you want." Her mother saw straight through her. "A puffskein. I'll pay for it with my own money! I swear! 5 galleons right here!" Zoe reached into her pocket and pulled out 5 galleons. "Alright, Zoe we can go." Zoe pumped a fist in the air.
Harper giggled as Zoe marveled at a black puffskein. Only this one had wings. Once she bought it, she named it Bucky. For a good solid minute she stared into it's deep purple eyes.
Flourish and Botts was packed with people. There was a giant crowd toward the front of the shop. Harper about had a heart attack. Gilderoy Lockhart was standing with Harry Potter. "He's such a git! I can't believe people believe his stories." Harper cursed. "Harper don't be disrespectful!" Her mother whisper yelled. Totally ignoring the "celebrity", Harper snaked through the rows of books looking for exactly what she needed. The smell of new books was so soothing. She scanned her list again to make she had everything. The parchment had a chocolate ice cream stain on it from earlier.
-------------------------------------
Zoe caught eyes with Draco Malfoy. This wasn't going to end well. She took a look behind her and noticed her mother was nowhere to be found. "Zoe Black! What a pleasure!" Lucius Malfoy came down the stairs after Draco, each step creaking under the pressure. "Mr. Malfoy! Good to see you!" Zoe lied innocently. "Oh please, Zoe! Call me Lucius." He corrected with a sly look on his face. "Draco's told me a lot about you!" Lucius looked down at his bright red son and then continued to smirk at Zoe. There was something off about that man, but Zoe couldn't put her finger on it. Maybe his long blonde hair just creeped her out. "Well, Draco we've best get your books. Shall we?" He asked, smiling down at Draco and patting his shoulder. "It was good seeing you, Zoe. I guess I'll see you on the train." Draco muttered as they started to walk past. "Uh.. Yeah! See you then!" Zoe called. She felt a sudden shift of weight in her basket of books. It felt heavier.
"Ooohh somebody likes you!!" Bandit snickered. Zoe giggled and blushed. "Shut up, Gryffindor." She taunted back.
-------------------------------------2nd year
Everything at Hogwarts had been fine so far, except for the diary. The diary was strange. When Zoe got to school she found it in her basket of books. Of course, she looked through it, finding it was completely blank. Zoe decided to use it as a journal.
'September 6, 1992. Zoe Black.
So far, Hogwarts has been well. My mother warned me about this year, but I haven't noticed anything different. Draco Malfoy always flirts with me and it's getting on my nerves, even though I kind of like him. He's also the new seeker for the Slytherin quidditch team. Honestly, I think he just wants to be better than Harry Potter. I guess that's how we Slytherins are. And it definitely doesn't that Draco's pureblood status has gone to his head. I have Transfiguration with Juliet, History of Magic and DATDA with Bandit, and Charms; Potions; and Herbology with Harper. Over the Summer I worried we would have barely any classes with each other since we're all from different houses.'
'Hello Zoe.'
Zoe almost died. The book wrote back!
'I'm Tom Riddle. Draco seems like the interesting type. Keep him close to you, he'll turn out well. Having classes with your friends is very good. How funny, you're all in different houses.'
Zoe slammed her diary shut and tossed it in her trunk. Someone was coming. "Hey Zoe are you coming to the quidditch match? It's Draco's first one!" It was Pansy. Zoe grabbed her green and grey jumper and slid off her bed.
It was a good match. Slytherin was against Gryffindor, much to Draco's satisfaction. Halfway through the match Harry spotted the snitch, but that was right before a bludger went crazy and starting chasing Harry. Draco realized Harry was in pursuit of the snitch and followed close behind. The bludger destroyed most of the bleachers, but thankfully no one got hurt... Except Harry. Before being destroyed the bludger pounded his arm.
After the game, Zoe sat on her bed with the diary again. Slytherin was all downstairs celebrating their win. She opened to the page, to find that Tom had finished his message.
'When I attended Hogwarts I came across a prophecy. It said unite all 4 houses to unlock one. I never found out what it meant. Maybe you can.'
Zoe was intrigued. So intrigued that she told Harper, Bandit, and Juliet at dinner.
-------------------------------------
"All of us are from a different house! We can do this!" Zoe exclaimed as she finished off her butterbeer. Juliet didn't like this at all. "We don't even know where to start. How do we unite the houses? Obviously us being friends isn't enough." Bandit complained, trying to talk Zoe out of it. "We need to think this through. The diary could easily be a prank to get us in trouble." Harper tried to explain. "Even if it is real, we can't just go snooping through Hogwarts!" Juliet added. "Yeah! We're not the Golden Trio!" Bandit mocked. "C'mon guys! It's so interesting! Tell me you don't want to know more!" Zoe tried to get them excited. "I don't want to know more." The others said in unison.
Zoe pounded her fists on the table, stood up, and left. "It's not like she can do it without us, so we have nothing to worry about." Juliet tried to assure everyone. Harper shook her head. "She's a Slytherin. She'll find a way." Harper explained with a hint of fear in her voice. "That way is gonna be fucking wild." Bandit concluded.
-------------------------------------
Bandit, Harper, and Juliet were standing in the courtyard talking to the "Golden Trio" and the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. They sighed upon seeing a group of Slytherins walking past.
"Hey Potter," Malfoy sneered. Bandit turns to Harper with an annoyed look. Juliet leaned over and whispered "He always sounds like he has a stick up his ass."
The three snickered. Zoe walked up and sees the two teams facing off. "This is NOT good." The three girls look at each other again. They'd been ignoring her ever since the diary incident.
"So Potter the entire Slytherin team was equipped with Nimbus 2001s. They're faster, turn better, and even look more sleek. See you on the pitch!" Malfoy hissed. The rest of the team laughed. Zoe, who made her way next to Draco (where she always was lately), elbowed Malfoy. "Draco don't be an asshat." She whispered.
Hermione walked up to them, and in a rare moment of being salty, speaks up. "Well Malfoy, at least the Gryffindor team all got on the team from talent instead of buying their way in." She hissed.
"Why would I care what you say, you filthy Mudblood?" Draco insulted.
Bandit and Zoe made eye contact. "Really?" Bandit mouthed to her friend. Zoe looked away not knowing what to do. Ron spoke up. "Shove off Malfoy!"
Then Bandit took a step to the front, and Draco actually moved a step back. "Piss off, you petty piece of shit!" Bandit growled at him. Trying to be the savage, Ron attempted the slug jinx, but his broken wand managed to conjure the spell on him. All the Gryffindors immediately ran over to help him. Harper caught up with Bandit and they followed Malfoy and Zoe while the Slytherin team made fun of Ron.
"Aye Zoe! A word?" Harper sounded mildly interested but everyone could tell that she was really pissed. Draco turned around as well, right into Bandit who shot a deadly glare at him. "We know you guys are in the spirit of friendly competition," Bandit said, nearly dripping sarcasm. "But the minute you even come close to any of my friends again, I will mess you and your greasy ass hair up." She smiled, but it's not a friendly smile.
Meanwhile Harper and Zoe stood a few steps away. "Come on Z. Really? I expected better, we expected better from you. If this happens again there's going to be problems." Harper explained to her. "I didn't do anything! It's not my fault Weasley broke his wand!" Zoe tried to defend herself, but only made herself look worse. Harper and Bandit let the two Slytherins run off towards their dungeon. Then, met up with Juliet, and headed off to dinner.
-------------------------------------
Juliet had never been so creeped out in her life. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened... Enemies of the heir BEWARE!" Was written on the wall... in blood. Filch's cat was petrified.
The next day in Transfiguration Hermione Granger asked Professor Mcgonnagal about the Chamber of Secrets. Apparently, one of the Hogwarts founders, Salazar Slytherin, constructed a secret Chamber and placed inside it a monster that only his Heir can control, to purge the school of impure-blooded wizards and witches. Now, Juliet was even more terrified. Whatever this monster was, it was probably out to get her.
As they walked out of the class, Bandit announced some information Juliet wished she wouldn't have heard. "I heard Harry Potter tell Ron Weasley that he thinks Malfoy is the heir of Slytherin." Juliet stopped walking. "He can't possibly-"
"He does always talk about getting rid of the muggle borns. You need to stay away from him. And Zoe." Bandit explained. Juliet sighed.
-------------------------------------
Zoe put her head in her hands. She woke up in the bathroom, soaking wet, and blood was all over her hands. She walked over to the sink and washed her hands off. "Guess I've been sleep walking again." Zoe sighed. She grabbed the diary and her quill.
'October 25, 1992. Zoe Black
I've been sleep walking too much lately. I'll always up in the girls bathroom, soaking wet. I wish I could tell my friends but lately they haven't been talking to me. It's like I'm suddenly a monster or something.
