The songs were playing loud in Thea's room. The room was anything but clean, it was truly scattered. All things here and there. Thea, Illiana, Ashlyn and Amelia were dancing like crazy people on the bed.
The music player, playing all of their favourite songs, all enjoying a lot, happiness practically oozing out of their faces, all obnoxiously dancing, it was a sight to see.
They sang loudly along with the loud music. Suddenly Thea reached the music player and changed the song. Everyone suddenly stopped and started staring at Thea.
"W-why did y-you stop?" Said Thea, speaking with so much innocence, that anyone could easily fall into it, but all the other girls knew, that she knew; what had resulted in everyone's stopping.
"Oh My God! Our sweet little Thea is acting so innocently!" Said Amelia , faking a high pitched, American accent, with sarcasm laced in her voice.
"Change the song! I am not listening to your One Direction songs!" Said Illiana in an impatient , irritated manner like she always did. She grabbed the phone from Thea's hand and was about to change the song when the song which Thea had played got over and got changed to One Direction's- What makes you beautiful. Suddenly a smile came on her face and she started dancing.
Ashlyn started laughing like a mental person immediately. "Oh god! Hahaha hahahaha! Illy! Right now you were shouting at Thea for playing One Direction's songs and now look at your self!" She said laughing.
"Ash! Didn't you know that she is and will always be a drama queen!" Said Thea laughing along with Ashlyn.
Amelia like always joined her best friend in dancing and got crazy along with her. Both of them didn't even care about what Ashlyn and Thea were saying.
This quality of their's what everyone loved about them. Their carelessness, their behaviour like small children was the most beautiful thing in their friendship. Not only Illy and Amelia were like this, all of them were the same way.
Thea slipped out of the flashback into the real world where she knew that nothing of this sort could ever happen again, because a very important part of their group had left them forever.
She stood in between of Ash and Illy. All of them wore black clothes and stood in the funeral of their friend. This was the last time they were going to see their best friend's face. Although the girl was dead, and her soul had long ago drifted away, one close to her , could still imagine that playful grin on her face, which was her usual expression for everyday, although that face will only reflect lifelessness forever, from now.
Tears constantly flowed out of their eyes. Illiana stood very still, like a statue. She was not crying, still holding back her salty tears, as though still in shock and not wanting to accept the reality of Amelia's death.
Thea, even when it did hurt her too, wanted to tell Illiana that she had to accept it , and move on, but she did not have the guts to do so at this moment as she herself did not want to accept the truth.
Ever since she had seen Amelia's dead body, she couldn't get the sight out of her eyes. Her beautiful face, full of childishness and happiness, full of craziness, and full of everything Thea loved about her, she just couldn't fathom Amelia in this new sight.
Her round face with her chocolate brown eyes, her pink lips with a wide smile, her dark colour which made her stand apart from all. All the good memories of their past, were flashing like a movie in front of Thea's eyes.
Ashlyn's tears hadn't stopped since the start of the ceremony. She just sat in one corner and cried continuously. Occasionally, she would come out of her shock and start furiously muttering Amelia's name, under her breath, like a chant; hoping somehow for a miracle, and her best friend would come alive.
Her parents were very worried about her. She already had her health problems, and now in this situation she neither ate food nor drank water. Everyone had asked her to eat something although they hadn't ate anything themselves. Everytime she would scream at everyone for doing so.
She was a very sensitive girl, and was easily hurt. Whenever anyone hurt her, whether any boy or anyone, Amelia is the first one to comfort her. That was why she was anyone so hit hard with her death.
Amelia's parents were the most shocked people in the whole gathering. Their faces were guilty and sad as though whatever had happened, had happened because of them and they could have stopped it.
Ashlyn caught Thea staring at everyone's faces. She shook her hand to gain Thea's attention. Thea's face turned towards Ashlyn's and they had a few seconds of eye contact. Both of their faces were wet with tears.
They sneaked a glance on Illiana's expressionless face. Her face was rigid and dry. The only question in their minds was that how would they be able to bring their friend out of her despair when they were themselves were in their pool of shock and grief. They imagined the time since she had been standing in the same position. It had been hours since they reached the place and since then she had been standing there, gazing at Amelia's body. Everyone had sat for sometime during the ceremony, well, except Illiana.
They shook Illiana to bring her into the reality. She didn't move.
"Illy! Stop acting! This is it! You cannot ignore us!" Shouted Thea, clearly frustrated.
"Exactly! You have to accept the truth like all are doing!" When Ashlyn said this, Illiana gave a humourless laugh.
"Have you accepted the truth? If you would have... You would have started eating by now. Is there any need of starving yourself if you have accepted the reality?" At Illiana's harsh , but meaningful words, Ashlyn stopped still.
She got out of her surprise, and moved towards the table and picked up a water bottle and started drinking the water which she hadn't done since last night.
"Now I have accepted the truth... It is your turn." Said Ashlyn, equally as harsh, trying not to break down. Illiana did not reply at this.
"Illiana darling I know that you miss Amelia but you need to accept the truth and move on.." Said Thea softly.
"How should I accept the truth! How should I live when I know that my best friend is dead and she is not dead because of an accident, but because of some things going inside that stupid head of hers! How can I accept the reality and move on, when I, myself don't know the reason of her death, which could possibly be me! Or you! It can be anyone!" screamed Illiana.
"Illiana! We stand at the same place as you do! Just like we have accepted the truth, you have to do that to! " said Thea.
"We have no other option than keeping Amelia in our memories." said Ashlyn.
"Yes Ash, you are completely right, now we are only left with memories, it is only a memory now."
