~The most important relationship you have in life, is the relationship you have with yourself.

Groaning from the annoying sunlight, I tried to roll over on the bed but something heavy was restraining me. Something on my waist which was tightening its hold and nuzzling in the crook of my neck. Something warm and soft and- Wait, what?

I opened my eyes reluctantly to face the unfamiliar ceiling. It took me a nanosecond to realise it was a someone and not a something hugging me tightly. As much as my sides were hurting from the pressure, I couldn't bring myself to wake her up. I shifted slightly and carefully until we were face to face with only a few inches between us. She was flawless even in her sleep but there was something different. She seemed almost vulnerable and exposed unlike her usual Stay-away-from-me-I-bite attitude. Her guard was let down and that side of her just made her more-

"Why are you eyeing me like I ate your pizza?" her muffled and sleepy voice broke my trail of thoughts, although her eyes were still closed.

"Well, I might even let you eat it if you would let me be your hugging pillow again." Her eyes snapped open at my suggestion and she nearly jumped to the other far end of the bed, her oversized t-shirt riding up further to expose her thighs and lacy red panties.

"It's too early for me to get murderous thoughts about someone I met only yesterday," she groaned.

"Oh god! I'm so blessed to hear your sarcasm first thing in the morning," I squealed in response, exaggeratedly. She was about to reply when her door was thrown open to reveal a middle aged man wearing a classy suit, a grey tie in one hand.

"Sweetie, get up! I'm going so, just make some breakfast for you and your brother. I bought groceries yesterday. Love you, bye. And hi, Evie's friend! Bye Evie's friend!" He literally said all that in one single breath and closed the door as quickly as he opened it, just to open it again after a millisecond to stare, dumbfounded, at Evie. "You have a friend?"

Evelyn groaned and buried her face in her pillow. "Embarrassing parent goals."

"Stop being a typical teenager and introduce me," the man said while walking further into the room. Evie sighed.

"Becca, this is my Dad and Dad, this is Becca. And she's Con's friend, not mine."

"Oh, do not listen to her, Mr Donovan. We're practically besties now," I winked at her before shaking his hand.

"Pleased to meet you Becca and you're welcomed here anytime," he smiled kindly. "Okay girls, I really need to rush now. Good day!"

As soon as he walked out the door, my phone buzzed and the caller ID displayed 'Mother Nature'. All color drained from my face instantly. I was so dead. Folks and foes, you're cordially invited to my funeral. Please bring chocolates.

I started rambling the second I picked up the call. "Mom, I'm so so so so so terribly sorry that I didn't came home last-"

"Miss Anderson? I'm Angela, your mother's assistant. Actually, I've been told to inform you that your parents flew to Australia yesterday. It was a sudden trip so they forgot to inform you. But you don't need to worry Miss because the maids at the residence have been informed to take care of you. Miss Anderson? Are you still there?"

To Australia? They forgot to tell me? Who forgets to tell their only daughter that they are flying to another fucking continent?
