Chapter 12: We'll start from there

Charlotte's POV

"Okay when I say you are cool, I mean it." Alika stared at the underground room,"We can live here forever! Like, We don't need to move elsewhere... We are perfectly safe here!"

Jade nodded approvingly however she soon released a weary sigh,"Not forever. My dad may have been seen as a 'fortune teller' - stupid zombie apocalypse - this wasn't built by my dad. It was here long before we moved in."

"We hardly come into this room. But it won't mean much anyway. This is my dad's study."

slowly, we all made our way into the room and slowly, weapons of all sorts appear in front of us. one by one we all gasp in amazement.

We never knew how one could have so many guns! "This is heaven man." Jesse whistled behind me.

Jade's POV

I smile at how impressed Jesse was. He seemed as interested in weapons as I am. I grab the closest melee weapon in front of me. A baton.

Let's test his reflex. I think as I suddenly turn and shout,"Think fast!" before taking an unexpected swing to the right at Jesse. The girls in the room gasp as Jesse's eyes widened. He dodged left, under the baton and grabbed it with his left hand. As I was holding the baton with my left hand, he pulled me and trapped me in his arms, my back touching his chest.

"Checkmate." He breathes in my ear. I could practically feel his triumphant smile. My face heated up and he let me go.

"Awwww" Both Alika and Charlotte squealed at what they had just witnessed. Mia and Ryder stared in shock while Dan smiled with interest.

I placed the baton back on the shelf and coughed.

Skipping ahead, and walking down even more steps to a white room with about 10 dummies lined up at the end of the room.

"So cool..." Alika repeats.

I walked to a wall with shelves of weapons and tossed each one of them a pistol.

"We're training here then?" Dan asks, smiling to himself.

"Must be." Ryder replies slowly, shocked at the scene in front of him. "Look guys, this may look like something out of movies but like seriously, this is just another room painted white to make it look bigger." I smile at their oblivion.

Mia's POV

I turn to look at Jade with disbelief and growing curiosity, what more don't I know about my best friend? What more has she been hiding from me?

I stare at her, jealousy rising from deep within me. I think I like that Jesse ... and I'm sure even Jade can realize !

I turn my head away from her as I walked on ahead, back into the weaponry.

I pick up a small gun that resembled my mini pistol she gave me. 'So this is where she got the pistol.' I thought to myself. The girl wasn't only smart, she was also very pretty.

I tighten my grip on the pistol for a while, only to release it with a deep breath. "This isn't the time for this..." I murmur, placing the gun back onto it's hung up casing, " Zombie apocalypse bullshit. It's only been 4 days and the number if casualties are already on high..."

I roll my eyes as I hear familiar shriek and laughter, followed by a deep male voice which I recognised to belong to Jesse.
