Silent Nights

When the moon touches the waves
When the stars align in perfect orbit
When their glow is the only light
I will be sitting here
Remembering the words you said
Remembering the promises you made
Remembering the way our souls were once one
I will be sitting here thinking
How could I not have known?
How could I ever forget?
How could I live without you now?
I will be sitting here thinking back
I should've asked
I should've known
I should've tried harder
I will be sitting here thinking back to how
Once upon a time I was your world
Once upon a time our future was bright
Once upon a time no words were needed
I will be sitting here thinking back to how you
Loved the sound of my laugh
Loved the way I moved
Loved the little things about me
I will be sitting here thinking back to how you left
You made me feel
You made me fall
You made me believe
So now, when remembering how I once loved you
I will be sitting here thinking back to how you left me alone
