One day
He stops replying as quickly as he used to
There are gaps in your conversations
There's nothing that really needs to be said
Those conversations that once electrified your heart
The ones you held close because you swore they could heal your scars
They become devoid of all of the warmth they ever carried
You ignore it and hope for the best
The already existing stress, more than either of you can handle
You wait and you wait
You hold onto the sinking ship until your fingers begin to bleed
In the distance, his love still lingers
You swear you're close enough to grab it
But it slowly floats away into the night
Gathering the courage
You ask where it went wrong
At that moment all that your fears come raining down
Drenching you from head to toe
Chilling you to the bone
Because you knew
That feeling you tried so hard to bury deep into your heart was right
So what do you do?
What do you do when your love is weighing you down?
Do you just let go and let the sea swallow you whole?
